Party on, everybody. A new highlight has been announced in the upcoming Colossal Clusterfest in San Francisco, and it involves already announced performers Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson of Broad City fame. They will be using their primary set time at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 to do a "once-in-a-lifetime live reading" of the Wayne's World screenplay, in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary. What's more: They will be accompanied by all-female Queen cover band, The Killer Queens.
The appeal of Wayne's World to the Broad City gals should be fairly plain from their situation comedy, and this does seem like an idea that is ripe for laughs. They'll also be joined in reading by the likes of Tig Notaro, who'll be playing the Rob Lowe role Benjamin Kane, and Tia Carrere, who will be reprising the role she played in the film, Cassandra. Hilariously, Ron Funches has been cast as accident-prone Stacy, originally played Lara Flynn Boyle.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan this is right in my neck of the woods too. I'm so tempted to check this out. Tig Notaro as Benjamin Kane! Tia Carrere in her original role! Run Funches as STACY!!!!!! I just wish this were a full on remake instead of a live reading.
