to uproarious "f*** YOU CIAMPA" chants, how emotionally invested was the live crowd in your heel turn?

I mean it factors into the build too. Did anyone care about Golden Truth? Nah. Did they care about that shit ending? Yeah. Ciampa and Gargano were expected to stay together and get a callup, copyright logo flashed and everything... then BAM... we may have the most emotionally invested feud in a long time...
It's amazing what good writing and storytelling can do, the Main Roster should try more of it sometime

I think WWE breaks up tag teams too often. Often times it seems that WWE splits up a team because they've lost momentum, and what happens is the two wrestlers end up getting lost in the shuffle separately rather than having another team for the tag division.
In the case of DIY, this is a tag team split done right. They've struck while the iron was hot for this team. People still wanted to see them together and cared, so the break up was disappointing to see, which means that the audience is now emotionally invested in the feud.
An analogy for the ending of these two teams, as far as drama and audience interest goes, is the difference between a minor character being killed off in a movie/TV show and a main character that the audience has grown really fond of.

When you plant seeds (CWC tourney) and book people right (DIY tasted the titles but could never regain them against AoP after several crushing defeats) the crowd will always appreciate the big heel turn

If that makes Candace LeRae Maggie, I'm 100% okay with this analogy.

Nobody has chanted "F*** You, Goldust" since he kissed Ahmed Johnson.

There was one guy yelling "do it!" and "yes" before he jumped off the table. What a rebel!
