Now, I'm well aware of buying PS1 games online on the Vita, or transferring stuff from downloaded PS1 games on the PS3 to the PS1, but is there a third party mobile gaming device capable of playing PS1 games? You see, I have Breath of Fire 3, and I'm dying to play it, but due to events in my life I can't set up my PS3 in my room right now and I'd like to take the game with me to work where I can play it there (I drive...but don't work with...the Amish, and sitting in the van all by myself can get boring after a while). So far, I can't find Breath of Fire 3 for download on Vita or anything, but if I'm wrong, please correct me.
Anyway, anyone that could help would be great!

There's always emulators and some crap you can pull off. How dependable they are and what to find/where to find them might not be OK for me to mention here per forum rules (plus, I straight up don't know anyway).
I thought maybe this would be something about the PS1 portable screen. I was gonna recommend that, but unless you have the remodeled PSOne, it probably won't work.
But otherwise, there's no third-party console/portable that can do it without diving into emulators.

no mentioning of emulators.
if it's not on the ps store for vita, you're a bit out of luck as far as the board is concerned.

See if you can search around for an LCD screen on sites like eBay or Amazon. Or even better, if you're willing to shell out the money, look into the GAEMS product line which what amounts to a small briefcase with a tiny LCD screen that you can plug your PS3 into.
Or even try to find a small monitor and shell out the money for a power adapter that can plug into your van.

I had a ps2 controller with a built in screen on it. If you could find one and it worked with the ps1 as well all you would need was a power inverter with two outlets (controller needs one).

It's a tad annoying sometimes dealing with the two separate power cords plus HDMI cable and whatever charging cables for the controllers, but it works. As far as purely mobile solutions go, the only official thing I'd suggest is just a PSP or PS Vita and whatever's on the store. Unfortunately, neither are great options due to shitty controller configurations (stop mapping buttons to touchpads!), but that's probably all you've got there.

store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/breath-of-fire-iii/cid=EP0102-ULES00193_00-BREATHOFFIRE0003 These stores tend to be a bit wonky, but it apparently was released for the Vita and PSP at some point.
