So, I did a latenight trek to Wal*Mart a day or two ago and used a self checkout thingy and had my nephew with me...well i had gotten quite a few things and in the midst of juggling so many groceries, keeping track of my nephew and being in a nightly haze...I left my wallet at the checkout (I'm pretty sure) and didn't realise till it was way too late. I just got back from asking if they had seen it or if was turned in and after they had apparently looked, they say they don't have it. So that means that either it was stolen, or they just didn't know where to look and they really do have it (I googled and that actually has happend, and as recently as a year or 2 ago). I feel like giving someone a Stunner right now. (even though, yes, its partly my fault)

I was blackout drunk in walmart and lost my hat and wallet once. No one returned it. >_>
There's cameras at all of those self checkout dealies, maybe talk to management and ask them if they can review? I don't know their rules on this stuff. Might be worth a shot.

Dude, that sucks. Did WalMart every say anything? I read that you have to file a police report before they let you look at security footage. >.> You basically have to beg to get any info from them and they act indifferent. I am inclined to just let it subside and move on than to deal with that heh. I'm pretty sure it was stolen though lol.

Oh no that was on me and I didn't wanna be all "hey me and two other idiots stumbled into your store at 3am, where's my stuff?" I just replaced my cards and bought a new wallet. It was a hassle but not SO bad.

It just sucks though, it had a few irreplacable things in it and plus it was kind of my fault to begin with. You at least had the excuse of not being in the right mind, I was sober xP

My mom once lost her wallet with $450 in cash inside it, as well as all of her personal identification cards, during the Christmas holiday one year. She suffered a massive heart attack due to all of the stress that it caused and as she was in the hospital, we received a phone call from somebody that had found her wallet. I arranged to meet the person and it still had the $450 in it as well as all of her cards. Just keep faith and things will hopefully work out, my friend.

I'd like to add to the two stories above about people doing the right thing and returning a wallet. Mine fell out on my commute home about 15 years ago, and for the first and only time it had £250 in it as I was paying some rent. Not only did a lady a few towns further down the line find it but she held onto it, found my telephone number in the book and contacted me that night. I had to get a taxi there, and as if I wasn't lucky enough that night the taxi driver turned the meter off on the journey home. She got a card of thanks from me and some vouchers for Body Shop cosmetics as a thank you.
There are some good people out there, my friend, please don't write off your wallet being in someone else's hands just yet. Best of luck.
