as a colossal critic of Snyder's work with the DCCU I give them nothing but my deepest condolences. I had a cousin who took his own life and I'd never wish the pain it caused my aunt, uncle and his two sisters on anyone.

I know I should be surprised by some of these responses but quite frankly I'm not anymore and it's sickening
Condolences to him and his family. That man tried to be a trooper at his job for a few months while still in a grieving period. No parent wants to outlive their child and hopefully him and his family find peace in their lifetime

After letting the whole situation sink in a bit and seeing the reactions across the internet I'm almost mad by the fact that Snyder HAD to reveal the circumstances of his leaving.
The media is chomping at the bit to rip him apart at every turn so he's forced to publically reveal something he wanted to grieve in private just to avoid the media and every angry news site posting stories and videos lying about the reasons of his stepping down while he deals with the situation. It all just feels outrageous and gross.

I see where you're coming from, but from the other perspective if the director of a billion-dollar franchise movie steps down people aren't going to just shrug and accept it. Better for him to control the situation by announcing it and rightly getting the sympathy and understanding he deserves than to have trolls hound him for being forced out before TMZ or some other tabloid break the story about his daughter. Shitty situation for him to be in, but in his position privacy was ever going to be an option.

Yeah I feel very sorry for him and this tragic loss. At the end of the day when it comes to stuff like this, I don't care if you make terrible content, or even terrible comments towards media or fans in your work. This is a situation that deserves to be treated with respect. This is a Human Being with a Family and Emotions just like everyone else. As someone who just lost his Father over a month ago, I greatly sympathize and think anyone who decides to make a remark about how happy they are he's gone or how much better the movie will be now, need to get their priorities in check, because now is not the time.
Another good example is Roman Reigns. Being one of the bigger outspoken members on the character and booking on this board, when his Brother died I was absolutely sickened by some of the social media comments I saw about it. Only let your hate and criticism for someone or something go so far, or else you turn into more of a monster than the ones you claim as such.

Should Snyder get away from DC....yes. But a death should never be the reason why we get what we wanted.
Condolences to the family

And from a really cynical perspective, Warner Bros has shareholders who invest in the company and wouldn't be happy if something like this were to happen with no real explaination. Like, if the situation was really different, someone could leave and say it was a personal matter with no speculation of "creative differences" and such so I completely agree with Hoho here, but that's unfortunately not how the world works.
