Jim Ross confirmed today on his podcast that Ayesha Ray, Mercedes Martinez, Rachael Evers (Ellering) and Shayna Baszler are in the tournament. I apologize for constantly ragging on this thing and for shouting but... WHY IS THIS STUFF BEING CONFIRMED ON JIM ROSS' PODCAST?! They have a website, a Twitter, a Facebook, a YouTube, an Instagram, that stock in that useless social media nobody uses anymore and a podcast on a company with no associations with WWE is confirming talent for a WWE sanctioned tournament?! Seriously, the f*** is going on here?!

And JR (since he's doing commentary for the tournament) probably went off the reservation and leaked names he wasn't supposed to.

Seriously, the f*** is going on here?! I think they just tried to be too cute with the slow drip feed of reveals instead of announcing them all at once like they did with the cruiser and UK tourneys. Given that precedence, I can only assume that's because they didn't actually HAVE a final 32 settled yet. If anything, they still might not NOW.

Now we're getting to the point where some of these women are going to miss out on the final 32. Where do they prioritise? Name value? International origins? "Workrate"?

HHH probably wanted to hold back on announcing names so that he can make a big Song and Dance about it on the Facebook stream so people might actually watch it. And JR (since he's doing commentary for the tournament) probably went off the reservation and leaked names he wasn't supposed to. I guess, if that's where it leads to, I can see the argument. Also, I can believe JR said stuff he shouldn't have but if you're a company like WWE and organising something this big, you don't allow that stuff to get leaked out without your say so. I think they just tried to be too cute with the slow drip feed of reveals instead of announcing them all at once like they did with the cruiser and UK tourneys. Given that precedence, I can only assume that's because they didn't actually HAVE a final 32 settled yet. If anything, they still might not NOW. I mean, I get if you are going to drip them, you'd think they'd have some kind of foundation on who they want to bring and get it sorted out. But what gets to me is that we have Squared Circle Sirens getting rumours about who's in, other publications revealing who's in the tournament, Nixon Newell (before she was confirmed and subsequently injured) taking selfies with everyone possible including people who had been in Florida for weeks and hadn't even been speculated and now Jim Ross doing interviews where people are essentially saying ''Man, we've made a right mess out of this, haven't we?'' with the first date of tapings supposed to be TOMORROW! Even with the speculation, you don't get a real sense of who they want in for the tournament itself and who they want for backups. With Vixen already in, for example, do you really need Lei'd Tapa in the main tournament too? Are they going with the international feel with some of the names or showcasing the best? There is no real feel right now except 'Here's all our NXT trainees and a couple of others who may or may not be signed for WWE' because they barely told us anything about it. Like...I don't mean to keep emphasising this but the WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world. This shouldn't feel as much of a mess as it does because you're too big for it to be that way. I mean, at least with the UK tournament, you could give the excuse that most of the talent they would have wanted (Samuels, Mastiff, Gibson, Ligero etc) were signed to World of Sport so they had to go a bit more obscure with stuff. This is exactly what I mean. Of course she might be part of the tournament. She was in a Newell group shot what feels like 6 years ago now.

I've got a feeling that some of the ones missing out, are signing an NXT contract and they're getting all put together because it's all happening at once.

I don't think it's that cut and dry considering none of the people who were subs for the Cruiserweight Classic, including Jesse Sorenson who was on TV not long before the CWC entrants got announced, never got signed by the WWE.

I'd have to remember if he was on the sub list WWE.com put up or not. I'm sure I never saw Zumbi as a confirmed name by the time the preview show was being built.

Excellent. Considering Dunne was allowed to have the PROGRESS title on a show, I wonder if KLR will have the ICW women's title on her during the tournament.

I mean, Toni Storm is the PROGRESS Women's champ and will probably have that for the show so I don't see why they wouldn't considering the relationship with ICW.

I guess it'll depend on how far they're planned to go through the tournament. Also might cause issues if they lose the belts between taping and broadcast.

I mean, if anything it'll be like Dunne with the title for the Takeover show so if Storm or Lee Ray are in the final, they might have the belt then since the final is live?

WWE have officially confirmed Ayesha Raymond (Ayesha Ray) and Kay Lee Ray, taking the announced field to 17.

Well, outside of my complaints about the tourney, I'm happy Kay Lee Ray is in. Someone who could probably go far as an underdog in the tournament depending.
Like, from the people confirmed already, it's a really goddamn solid line up of really talented wrestlers. They just need to get a move on with the other 15.
