So this tourney has the PROGRESS, ICW, WCPW and SHIMMER Champions in it. Don't tell me it won't be any good...

Question : Is it better that they load the brackets in a way that none of the bigger names have to take a 1st round loss, or in a way that some of them will have to? How much is unpredictability valued?

Also, let's consider for a moment the people that haven't been rumoured or even mentioned for this that weren't picked.
Jordynne Grace Lufisto Jinny Veda Scott Bea Preistley Solo Darling Kelly Klein
That's off the top of my head and that'd make a good sub bench (outside of Lufisto for health reasons)

The real question is how many of these women will be offered contracts, I know Meltzer said that he thought they were all likely to sign because unlike a guy like Ibushi and such women don't make as much on the indies and their options are more limited.

Yeah, I mentioned that a page back but she seems to already be committed to the SHINE Nova Tournament at the same time as the matches for the Classic are being taped so that ruled her out.

The opening post looks bare and I am hyped for this Tournament so ... I think they're a touch too big now I've posted them but I'll wait for any complaints before I make any changes I'll just make changes as I go.

How much is unpredictability valued? I feel like the ideal would be you mostly keep around the bigger names, but you do have some of them lose right away to spotlight some more obscure people, and you do at least give each match ample time for even the people who are only in there briefly to at least have a spotlight and a chance to catch some attention. Someone's gotta lose first but a tournament of this nature shouldn't have anyone who's nothing but a warm body. Granted Lei'D Tapa is like the only person in this I have any exposure to at all.

Jim Ross confirmed today on his podcast that Ayesha Ray, Mercedes Martinez, Rachael Evers (Ellering) and Shayna Baszler are in the tournament. I apologize for constantly ragging on this thing and for shouting but... WHY IS THIS STUFF BEING CONFIRMED ON JIM ROSS' PODCAST?! They have a website, a Twitter, a Facebook, a YouTube, an Instagram, that stock in that useless social media nobody uses anymore and a podcast on a company with no associations with WWE is confirming talent for a WWE sanctioned tournament?! Seriously, the f*** is going on here?! Aren't they announcing all of the names tonight at 6:30? I'm sure they have it all planned out, but with it not airing until late August there's no need to start the hype too early.

Toni Storm is representing Australia. ... and Wikipedia backs this up but you're usually spot on with this stuff so I'm quite confused. Anyway, will sort that out when we get there. The following are now the correct size for signatures on this forum but, again, feel they're a touch too big. All input is welcomed.

She's billed from the Gold Coast in Australia (near Brisbane), and lived in Australia for most of her life. Couple of other things - Victoria Gonzalez is now Reina Gonzalez. And below's a pic of Dakota Kai getting ready for the tournament...

Per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kairi Sane is facing Tessa Blanchard in the first round, and that Sane is allowed to use the elbow drop now. He is also of the belief that Toni Storm is considered as a tournament favourite.

If Mercedes Martinez is 100% confirmed I really hope we get her vs Sane in one of the rounds...

Toni herself seems to be billed from Australia no matter where I look but every reference I can find for the Tournament lists her as a Zealander. I mean both are technically correct but I guess we'll have to go by what the E says tonight. /Tangent - Pic update inside the spoiler if anyone cares: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Slightly smaller still, and with an adjusted BG: And one for those who prefered the old style:

It's something I've wanted to do for my ranking graphics but I can't figure it out.

So I just came upon this...from the WON.
Those who believe that WWE women all have to be hot were not that happy about it (the Mae Young Classic), feeling a lot of the women brought in weren’t good looking enough for WWE standards. Don’t blame me. I think the last year showed conclusively that the audience reacts better now to strong performers than hot women who are there for nothing other than being hot. The lack of reaction to Lana in her new role as compared to her old role, the one woman being marketed the old way to the extreme, kind of showed that. But far more important than if the crowd does or doesn’t react, those who have access to quarter hour numbers have noted this group of women do far better in the ratings than the Kelly Kelly types and Maryse types (in her wrestling days) and the women in general did when the women were hired with the idea of getting the hottest models and trying to teach them to not have bad girlie matches as opposed to now where the women aren’t discouraged from wrestling a hard style.
