BTW, there is a current spin off of his show running on PBS, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. My (adopted) cousin loves both.

If they ever made a movie about his life you can bet your bottom dollar this would be one of the most pivotal scenes: "And I feel, that if we in public television, can only make it clear, that feelings are mention-able and manageable, we will have done a great service for mental health." I'm a 33 year old woman, and I still appreciate being reminded of that, especially lately Thank you, Mr. Rogers.

Funny, I've been looking at a few videos of Mr Rogers. He's not really a thing in the UK but I hear stories of his messages and various things he's done. He's a hero. Should be required viewing. He's the Stone Cold Steve Austin of his genre. Just straight up, no frills, believable with a presentation that is so easy to get on board with.

His sweater is at the Smithsonian for a reason.
Each time I hear the man, I truly hear the words of a saint. And everything he says in 1969 still applies today.
And I didn't grow up with Mr. Rogers, we didn't have him here in Quebec, political & language barrier and all, back then it just wouldn't happen. We had an equivalent government-approved TV show where the hosts were three young adults who taught us similar thing, but they came off as phoney acting, which they were doing, they were actors. Fred Rogers was Mr. Rogers. There was no character. He was a figure of caring for your fellow human being.
My best friend is American, and we talked about Mr. Rogers when he passed away. He's a redneck from Wisconsin and he tried his darndest to hide it, but he was REAL emotional talking about how Mr. Rogers helped him go through his father's death when he was very young and going through childhood without a dad.
This was his last goodbye.

I saw a post go around saying he could lift Mjolnir, while another countered that he would not have to.
At any rate, I guess I have him to thank for knowing the scientific name for the house wren.
Troglodytes aedon, King Friday's most very royal pet. Greet him in a manner befitting his dignity.

Thank goodness for Amazon Prime video. I introduced my kids to him. Quality kids programming without an agenda. They love it. I am so happy. Plus, Daniel Tiger makes so much more sense to them now as they make all the connections.
Starting with the greatest of all time: the trip to the Crayola crayon factory.
Did you know he talks about feeding the fish because one blind girl wrote him a letter since at first he didn't say it and she got worried? Every time he did it he said it for her. One girl.
On my Facebook post about it, one since banned person wrote Mr. Rogers was dangerous for kids because Miss Elaine, a puppet, was an alcoholic because of her red nose and cheeks. I just can't with that.

In rewatching his testimony, I realize how much Jim Parsons sounds like younger Mr. Rogers. Parsons is probably about th same age as Rogers was here. Parsons needs to play him.

I adored Mr. Rogers as a child. Just loved the show.
It always felt like he was actually inviting you into his home. The man radiated warmth and kindness.
