Congratulations!
My wife and I currently own a one bedroom condo, but now we've got a baby so we sold it with a June 30th closing. Unfortunately unlike most of Chicago our area hasn't seen a very big boost so we are taking a small financial hit on it.
We aren't buying again for several reasons. First, we're hoping to relocate back to Michigan when one of us finds a good job there. Secondly, we are NOT buying into a condo association again as it is nothing but headaches (not the least of all because I'm the association president. They're f***ing DOOMED without me holding it together.). Third, housing prices for single family homes in the Chicago area are batshit goddamn insanity and like most middle class youth we have crushing student loan debt and not enough for a down payment so PMI drives any possible loan payment out of reach.

As a home owner, I recommend buying a good toilet plunger to celebrate. Make sure is a toilet plunger instead of a regular plunger. It will bail you out of a crappy situation.  |

Sorry to bump, but i am officially moved in I hate moving. I hate it so much that this time we are paying a moving company not only to move us, but to pack us too. I have no idea what to expect that process to look like, because we've always packed and moved ourselves before, but I was just not going to do it again. |
