Richard Nixon used to get laughs at family BBQ's by wearing an apron that read "I am not a cook!"

Lyndon B Johnson was kinda obsessed with his dick and would show it to people and called it "Jumbo".
One of Lincolns kids, Robert Todd Lincoln was near/present for three presidential assasinations:
1.) He was nearby at the White House during his Fathers and rushed to his parents
2.) Present and an eye-witness to James A. Garfields assasination.
3.) Was present (but not at an eye-witness) when William McKinley was shot.
When later invited by a President, he said "No, I'm not going, and they'd better not ask me, because there is a certain fatality about presidential functions when I am present.".
His life was also saved once by Edwin Booth, whose brother John Wilks Booth, murdered his father.
Also, Greek statues are often mistook to have looked black and white or just marbel. They were actually extremely colorful. Like something out of Castro Street.

Cleopatra's family tree was so tangled that three of her four grandparents were siblings. One of her grandfathers, Ptolemy IX, was also her great-grandfather.

Despite what many may think, Orange does have a rhyme in the English Oxford Dictionary: Sporange; a botanical term for a part of a fern or similar plant

Sloths, when hanging, sometimes grab their own arm thinking it is a branch and fall to their death. Also, koalas don't have full rib cages, so if you squeeze them too hard they will explode.

The rarest form of ivory is narwhal ivory. When they were first discovered, it was sold as a unicorn horn because no one believed in a horned whale.

One of the most successful military campaigns in history was Liectenstein during the Austro-Prussian War. They didn't kill anybody, and sent 80 men. They returned with 81: as they befriended one of the people from the opposition.

Kangaroos can't jump backwards. Emus can't walk backwards. There is a kangaroo and an emu on the Australian coat of arms because of this. They're symbols of progress.

Nobody knows who invented the fire hydrant because the patent for the hydrant was lost in a fire.

Redd Foxx's real name was John Sanford. His TV character Fred Sanford was named after his brother. His stage name was derived from his reddish hair. As a youth he worked at a diner, where he was nicknamed Chicago Red. He had a co-worker at the diner, also with reddish hair, who was nicknamed Detroit Red. Detroit Red would later be known as Malcolm X.

Times Square in New York is named after the NY Times newspaper. One Times Square (the small building in the south part covered in advertising hoardings, and houses the New Years Ball) used to be the HQ of the NYT before they relocated to 8th Avenue. Inside One Times Square is mostly empty except for a Walgreens which takes up the first three floors of the building, holding the billboards is its primary function. It has actually been there since 1904. Here is a pic of it from 1919 before it was covered in billboards:
