I remember it was the end of the school year in grade 9. We had a free period or something and I heard the news on the radio.

The news footage of the police carrying the children out will always stay with me.

One of the most sad and tragic deaths in entertainment history. I remember it and how much of a talent was lost.

i often wondered if the simpsons would still be close to as good as they were if he was still around. His roles were minor, but he brought so much energy to them, he could make any line sound funny

A shame the way his life ended and how the children were left without a mother and father

I remember coming home from school and finding out from my dad.
I can't believe it's been 19 years. What a talent he was. He made every role, no matter how small it was, memorable.

I'll never forget that day. I got home from school and at some point turned on the television, I believe it was Inside Edition that was going off and they mentioned something about "the Phil Hartman tragedy". Then Entertainment Tonight came on and gave the grisly details. So sad. I watched a few episodes of NewsRadio today and the Simpsons episode "Bart Gets Hit By A Car", Phil's first appearance. It's weird how The Simpsons started was starting to get really good when Phil Hartman came aboard and fell off a cliff after he died.

I also wonder what his take on Zapp Branigan would of been like since they wrote the role specially for him

I'll be honest I had no idea how talented the guy was until I saw his work on NewsRadio and SNL.

Just an amazing, amazing talent.
While his comedic work is right up there with the best, I also always think of the "Love Is a Dream" sketch from SNL.
The show reaired it in tribute to both Phil and Jan Hooks after their deaths.
And I seriously feel like crying as I think about it.
