So as I was getting ready for work this morning I heard a knock on my door, and it turned out to be maintenance men for the building informing me they needed to come in to remove my air conditioner from the wall to make sure is properly insulated. I had received no warning from the realty company that owns my complex that this was going to happen-nothing in the mail, no phone call, no email, zip. So sufficed to say, I was pretty upset. This comes on top of so many negative events in the last couple months for me, including the death of my grandmother, my car breaking down, and the typical summer insanity setting in at my job. Having these total strangers come in to my place and turn it upside down right in front of me, tracking dirt all over my floor and making me late for work finally snapped me I guess. When they left I puked and called in to work saying I will not be in today. Even though I have no sick or personal to use for the remainder of the year due to an illness in December and I will have to accept making no money for today and risk hurting my standing with management, I just can't go in today. My mind is in such a place that I would freak out on some poor soul for sure. I am sitting here trembling as I type this, my stomach feeling like a giant hole in my abdomen. Does this sound like a panic attack?

Short answer, yup.
This may be the first time you puked, but panic attacks are a wide range of reactions. I had been suffering panic attacks for years and not really paid attention to it. My doctor prescribed a low-dose anxiety med and it helps a lot. Also, I try to take time to myself everyday to do some sort of quiet activity- reading, playing my viola, drawing, etc. If you're concerned, go ahead and talk to your doctor.

Sending love! I've been there before, it's the worst feeling in the world.
I'm not sure where you're from but at least here, places you rent from are required to give 24 hours notice before they show up to do any work inside your place.

I'm currently getting treated for depression and anxiety, and just recently had an anxiety attack. I've been overthinking and imagining the absolute worst in every situation. And it's weird, because I know deep down my thoughts are irrational yet I continue to accept them as a real possibility anyway.
Your experience sounds somewhat similar to my own, where the accumulation of recent life events lead to a breaking point. I would definitely recommend speaking with a professional. Hope you feel better soon!

Anxiety sucks a lot especially when you don't know what is triggering it or can trigger it. I have severe general anxiety and am on two different medications for it, one is a daily and the other is as needed

That sucks man. I am lucky while I do have panic attacks I have learned what triggers them most of the time and found ways to work around the triggers. I get prescribed an as needed med to combat the panic attacks. But the past 12 months I have only had maybe 8 so not bad.

I've been there and it sucks. Just know that it's ok to ask for help. I hope things work out for you.
