editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/netflix-stars-join-x-men-spinoff-the-new-mutants-and-more-movie-news/So the line-up for the movie is now announced as... Maisie Williams - Wolfsbane Anya Taylor-Joy - Magik Charlie Heaton - Cannonball Henry Zaga - Sunspot Blu Hunt - Mirage Gotta say, between the Z-list line-up, it being described as a "Stephen King meets John Hughes-style horror movie" whatever the hell that means, the X-Men movies not typically doing all that great to begin with, and it being written and directed by the people who did Fault in Our Stars this movie sounds like a disaster. Edit: I actually got Fault in Our Stars confused with Me Before You, so ignore that strike against it I guess.

"This is just so we wont lose the license" The Movie They already have Deadpool, and and another x-men movie on the way that handles that. This is trying to get more movies out of the X-franchise because all of their hero movies outside of them have been terrible.

This'll be hard for me to get into without Cypher and Warlock. Cypher, Warlock and Magik were always my favorites on the team.

Wonder how they chose this line up. They're also leaving out Karma and Magma.

There are tons and tons of characters they could hold onto forever despite never having the slightest bit of intention of putting them in a movie.

Do we really need "My superpower is I'm worthless without a wrench" in the movie? Seriously, Forge sucks.

He used Marvel to make a quick buck for himself, and as a result tied their characters up in horribly unbalanced contracts.

I could see this working if they spend the first part of it showing how they get to Xaiver's, and then the rest of it adapting the "Demon Bear" storyline, or something from the Bill Sienkiewicz era.

From what I have always heard it also kept marvel out of chapter 7 bankruptcy.

From what I have always heard it also kept marvel out of chapter 7 bankruptcy. Yeah, selling the rights actually helped Marvel afloat... but the way the contracts are written are pretty poor with an in perpetuity (As long as there is significant production by x date) aspect to it which is fine if you never plan on making your own movies. They were smart enough to include the you can't just make an unrelated movie and slap our characters name on it clause though.
