Very sorry to hear that. My uncle was killed in a car wreck. It happened before I was born, but it still bums me out that I never knew him.

That's one other extra wrinkle on it, my aunt basically raised my little brother and he has a son due to be born any day now who will never get the chance to meet her.

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone, it's really meant a lot. I'm doing okay now, still a lot of uncertainty about some things but able to go about my normal routine, though I do kind of keep playing over the moment I was told about it in my hed when I have nothing going on. Still, I've been in a solid mood today and not dwelt on it too much so that's something. Can tell I'm going to be a total wreck at the funeral, though.

Same thing happened to my aunt and cousin a few years back. I wouldn't wish the kind of pain my family and I went through in the aftermath of that on any person. All the best to you and yours.

Just got in from the funeral. Very rough, cried my eyes out, but I got to give a eulogy and be a pallbearer so at least got some closure. Very hard but now that it's done I think I'll be okay.

My grandma took in one of my aunt's dogs while the other two were in heat and this morning the dog got out of the fence and got hit by a car. So... Yeah, she's not taking that well. Also my grandpa - the one my aunt was trying to save - died the other day.

Admittedly I can't claim to be too hung up on that myself since I only really knew him for about a month a decade ago, but... Yeah. June has been a freaking awful month for my family.
