Not sure if there is a thread on this already, if there is, please feel free to lock: Finally got to watch the episode earlier and it picks up after the cliffhanger from Season 4 with Daya and the gun: {Spoiler}She does shoot Humphrey as he tried to appeal to her by speaking Spanish but Daya is not fluent in Spanish.

Seen all but the final 3 of this season, they leaked over a month ago.
So far it has been damn good and not going the way I expected.

Yeah they went in on with the mass shooting references like Sandy and Columbine quite often to describe if someone had a gun and used it to killl people. The methheads are annoying but I like Gloria, Daya, Red and Taystee. I find Piper still annoying, don't think there's a spoiler tag needed for that one.

Piper has been annoying since season 2. I wouldn't mind it if she left the show. But I doubt that happens.

Question but how is the tone of the season compared to other seasons? I liked how there was a sense of danger in seasons 1 and 2 before season 3 made the show look like summer camp. Honestly I don't even remember much of season 4 outside of the ending and Joe Caputo getting a major overdue push

Getting ready to go sit out on my pier and watch Episode 11. I have loved what I have seen of the new season so far. Made up for how off the last season felt.

And I have finished it. Just like the last few seasons it leaves me wishing it wasn't a year before I get another season.

I just finished it, it was okay though the scene with Pennsatucky cozying up to Coates had me a bit uncomfortable considering their past.
I'd rate it 7/10 overall, some parts like the meth heads and the Litchfields Got Talent episode annoyed me but it was good aside from that, I'm probably forgetting some other stuff that will come to mind later.

Well finally saw it. Kind of let down by the end but by far a better season than 3 or 4. {Spoiler}I did hate the variety comedy hour of the methheads. I did hate how badly everyone failed at negotiating. I hate how the big moments really lead to nothing for the most part. I hated the fact like only two prisoners went outside in a span of two episodes and noticed a hole to escape? Or how that guard died with no fanfare. Or how little interaction the nurse had like how did he even escape again?

I think one of the methheads, the blonde Leann is going to turn face next season, just the look on her face after seeing her mom there made me think that and I think it might lead to a falling out with the other one because she had no one waiting for her.

For me, the show is less and less enjoyable each season. I started watching with the wife as it's one of the few shows we shared a common interest in and I tuned out at about episode 3 while she continued to watch.

Finished it last night. First episodes felt uneven but by episode 5 everything fell into place. The season was beautiful chaos and the best one yet. The show has done an amazing job at building some many characters to get to know and love. Also Danielle Brooks better when an Oscar because in the wise words of Mr. Duckworth "DAMN."

Bullet points!!!
-f*** Tastyee (or however it's spelled...could not possibly care less). She was given everything and still bit the hand that fed her. She f***ed it up for everyone.
-Piscatella was an evil man and got what he deserved.
-Red...you my girl.
-Piper, since season 2 has been an insufferable twat. She needs to go.
-Nice to see Fig back.
-When it comes back and they reach that final count, they're still gonna be 2 short. (at least)
-Love me some Suzanne.
-THAT WAS NOT THE KOOL-AID MAN!!!
-Caputo is still the man.
-Overall, it was an okay season. Didn't blow me away.

I had given up on this show back after the episodes featuring Ruby Rose, just couldn't stand "hardened criminal mastermind" Piper. But my boyfriend started binging it , and I came back in once I saw they were pulling back on Piper and Alex. And I'm glad, because this was my favorite season of the show. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Daya's "I don't speak Spanish" made me weirdly happy. I always like seeing non-white Americans in t.v./movies who buck the stereotype of all speaking "their" language. It makes me feel better about the times people have given me crap for not speaking Spanish just because they've decided in their head I'm Mexican. I'm in the minority it seems, I loved the talent show, found it utterly hilarious. Didn't really know how to feel about Tastyee's[sp?] negotiating. Still not sure, really. At this point, should Nikki REALLY be surprised by Morello's hot and cold antics? Also, I thought it was weird it took so long to mention her husband, especially during all that. Despite her being a crazed nutjob, I really like Morello (hey, maybe that answers the previous question ), so I didn't want to see her endure another huge heartbreak. I'm going to have to probably watch the season again, my timeline got all screwed up because I inadvertently skipped a few episodes, plus I put off the last couple episodes due to it getting too dark for me to take in all at once. So I'm a bit confused about the ending.

I think this season was helped by finally truly relegating Piper to being a side character, she had what? 20 minutes of screen time all season and was completely superfluous.
