Everyone knows how great the Hitchcock one is and how bad the remake is But what about the two sequels and the TV Movie. Are they worth watching?

I think that I remember Psycho IV being okay, but I haven't seen it in years so I could be wrong on that now.

Yeah
While none live up to Hitchcock's classic the sequels are still pretty damn good

From what I remember hearing The 4th one might be the only time you saw a happy ending

Perkins elevates em the best he can.
I wouldn't go so far as to call em good, but he tries really hard.

I really feel like the first sequel does Hitchcock proud. The third and fourth films I would say are "alright". Catch them if you can. But the only sequel I'd really go out of my way to see is Psycho II.

Psycho II-A damn good sequel. Sure it isn't as good as the original. But worth seeing. Psycho III-Feels way too much like a 80s slasher.. which has it's good and bad points. Psycho IV-The best of the sequels. IIRC was made for Showtime. Perkins is great as a now married Norman who is calling into a talkradio show hosted by CCH Pounder. We get lots of the back story filled in.
Bates Motel-No not the recent tv show, this was the pilot for a late 80s tv show. The show never happened and for years the pilot was a bit hard to get. Bud Cort meets Norman while Norman is in the mental hospital. Norman dies and leaves Cort the motel in his will. Cort tries to reopen it with help from Lori Petty. The first hour is just setting everything up. Then the last 20 minutes feels like the second episode of the never finished tv show.
Not sure how hard it would be to find now. But a year or 2 ago I found a DVD pack with all the above mentioned movies in it. It was $5 and is worth that much. As far as I know this is the only pressed DVD release of Bates Motel. There was a MOD release, but that one is 20 bucks for just that movie.
