Next month will be the 10th anniversary. If you read up on the production it's amazing how well it turned out. It did so well that Hasbro actually ran out of product in the warehouse. I know many thought it would be a bomb. That Bay would fail with it. I was one of them. Did not think people would be into a live action Transformers movie.
Thanks to the movie I actually became a bigger fan got into the older stuff with G1 and Beast Wars
Now the sequels not that great.
I would say the first is great and DOTM is decent especially once the battle of Chicago starts

I don't mind this film, but it's not really something that I feel that I would have to own. I remember seeing it in theaters a month after it came out. I was entertained. I didn't watch it a second time until early 2013 and I was still entertained enough. I found the comic version to be better, even though it was roughly the same thing with a lot of things removed. As for the sequels, I really did not like the second one. The third one gets a SLIGHT pass because of the freeway chase and the big climax in Chicago. The fourth one dragged on for way too long, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't find some of the action scenes entertaining. By the way, check out this episode of We Hate Movies on the first film. They will cover the other four, including The Last Knight when it comes out.

The first is definitely the peak, and a genuinely entertaining movie. I remember criticisms regarding too many humans, but it never bothered me. Plus, they really overdid the Transformers in the sequels.

The score is another good thing about the series

I was a major Transformers fan growing up and I waited years for a live-action film. I wouldn't say this was as good as it could have been, but it certainly wasn't horrible. I later went out and bought every single action figure associated with the film (except for those that didn't actually appear). In the end, they cost me about $200. I'm trying to sell them now and it looks like I can make a decent profit.

I was happy with what we got. It could have been better, but having watched the DVD extras, I could appreciate why Bay took the direction he did (budget restraints, how certain hues and colours show up on camera, more humans etc) He indefinitely improved Bumblebee from a shitty Beetle that's a really small and ineffective robot from G1. I am also glad Peter Cullen voiced Optimus Prime.

I saw it with two of my best friends and found it super enjoyable the first time. It lost a lot of its charm second time around when watching it solo, and I don't think it's aged well at all since.
I did appreciate Cullen reprising the voice of Optimus Prime, and even on autopilot and hating every second of recording dialogue Hugo Weaving made for a decent Megatron.
f*** those terrible robot designs though. Whoever came up with the idea of making them vaguely insectoid should be fired.

I kind of liked the first one. I thought the comic relief parents were funny too.
Everything in the second movie became instantly insufferable.

The first one was ok. The rest awful.
The 2nd to last one is the worst film I've seen at the cinema.

The action is terrible. I still to this day have no idea what the hell is going in the fight scenes. I literally can't tell which robot is which.

The 2007 film isn't perfect by any means- I always felt the robot designs were too busy, and some of the action in the climax is muddled. But outside of those, it's a decent little TF film. The sequels are unbearable, though.
I don't enjoy it in the way I do the 1986 film, but that's not exactly an Oscar-worthy masterpiece either.

Prime and Bumblebee are the most recognisable, since one's bright red-and-blue, and the other' bright yellow. Not that you can tell what the f*** is going on when they're in action. Even to this day I can't tell any of the others apart.

The first one I liked a lot, the second one is pretty much only notable for "Give me your face!", the third one soured me on the franchise due to {Spoiler}Optimus Prime allowing the Decepticons to conquer Chicago, then showing up again and saying something to the effect of "now they'll realize they need us" And I saw the fourth, but I dont recall anything about it.
