Question about Rocky Balboa

[Goldenbane]

A lot of people tend to be somewhat critical of Rocky Balboa's boxing ability. They tend to say that he beat Spider Rico, went the distance but lost to Apollo the first fight, beat Apollo the second fight, beat a bunch of nobodies, lost to Clubber Lang, defeated Clubber Lang, defeated Ivan Drago, and that's his whole boxing career. My question is, after re-watching Rocky IV here recently, there seems to have been some time between Rocky's match with Clubber and his fight with Drago. Surly he fought people between then? And surly, now that he...and sort of Apollo...were calling the shots, Rocky didn't just "fight nobodies" to just hold the title a little longer. I'm willing to bet that he fought between the Clubber and Drago fights and probably against far better competition than what Micky was putting him up against...so, is Rocky maybe underrated as a boxer? Like, maybe he's better than people give him credit for? What's the consensus?

Little bit out of order...he fought Thunderlips before he fought Clubber. I'm honestly shocked he didn't fight anyone between Clubber and Drago. Those movies didn't feel like they took place immediately after one another. (There's 3 years between III and IV in real time).

There are other sites that omit some of these bouts including Dixon and Thunder lips. But this is the record that pops up the most

In cannon the movies take place immediately after each other. Remember at the start of IV Rocky returned home with black eye he received from Apollo from their secret fight. The kid just has a rapid aging condition.

Then it's amazing that kid was still alive for the 6th movie. Judging by the rate of aging, he should have looked older than Rocky by that movie
