The tone looked closer to the comic than the movie did. I actually found the cartoon more interesting.

I remember watching this cartoon. I remember one episode with K getting neuralized and somehow remembered his former life and then seeing his father again. I thought that was a well-done episode.

I remember nearly giving up on the show in the first season. A lot of the stories were pretty boring and the animation honestly seemed unfinished. The show got much better as it went though and when it ended was a solid workhorse for KidsWB.

It was decent. Always wanted it to cross over with Extreme Ghostbusters.

Yeah, don't remember much about it but I do remember liking it as a kid. I actually saw it before the movie (and was disappointed that the coffee-loving aliens didn't play a more prominent role in the movie). There were a surprising amount of decent cartoons based on movies in the late 90's/early 2000's, even when the movie they were based on weren't all that good themselves (Godzilla, anyone?).
Also, this is one of the few of such cartoons where the characters are instantly recognizable from their real-life counterparts (at least when it comes to J and K), while also giving them a lot of personality and style, which I appreciate. I know they have to make adjustments, either to avoid paying likeness rights or because it wasn't sure if such rights would even be granted but most of them tended to play it a bit too safe in my opinion and you ended up with designs that require you to squint very hard to see the resemblance.

After the switch in voice actors for Kay(the show spelled out the codenames instead of just one letter), there was a big improvement. Episodes that I remember is the Edgar episode where Vincent D'Onofrio voices three bug characters, a superpowers episode and a time travel episode where a conspiracy theorist tries to prevent MIB from forming.
The 4th season was better than the first season, but added a "Poochie", a tough talking alien who joins the agency, and it doesn't work.

I don't even need to watch that video. The moment I saw the title of the thread that song started playing in my head.
.....I'll divert from popular opinion, probably, and say that I never really liked the cartoon. The intro though.........f***ing classic.
