Oh boy oh boy oh boy I've been waiting for this! I actually saw it in theatres because I just had to witness the trainwreck for myself and it was beautiful. Nothing like a sequel that completely ignores the one thing the previous film was setting up to and retcons the very premise of the franchise to truly wrap up a film series. Man, seeing Phelous tear it apart is gonna be awesome! Although there was so mouch nonsense and contradictions (even within the movie on its own) that I'm not sure Phelous will be able to point them all out.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they deviated from that ending. What a great cliffhanger ending in and of itself, and a great way to generate anticipation for the next film.

He kinda looks nice in that outfit, and I don't really know what about it is making that difference.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Nothing about these films has ever been great. Even the first two films which were at least enjoyable in my opinion, never elevated themselves to being great. And I mean, I can sort of see your point, but it's hollow when you know damn well that had they actually gone with this, only Alice would have been allowed to accomplish anything while everyone else died. You know, pretty much exactly what we got anyway. It's also hard for me to get excited about a cliffhanger like that when most of the characters have had almost no development and therefore mean very little to the audience. And this series has spent so much time depicting Alice as this unstoppable force that anyone familiar with these films would genuinely expect her to be able to take on the zombie army on her own, just like the countless times she's taken on massive swarms of enemies on her own and only ever had a couple scrapes to show for it, even without her powers. I mean for crying out loud, she no-sold cardiac arrest. So clearly even dying isn't a threat to her. So yeah, hard to get excited about a big final battle when victory, and dullness, are a foregone conclusion.
