Because why should actors playing The Joker have all the fun. Just like the title says, whose portrayal of Luthor is you favorite? For me it was Spacey in Super Returns. He nailed it with a boiling anger, you could see him saying "that f***ing alien" with just his eyes. That to me was Lex Luthor.

Rosenbaum is the best live action Lex. Which, given that he was given the most time playing it and was given a way more nuanced character to play makes sense.
But he was easily the best part of that show, and it's impressive that he did better with the character than two Oscar winners. Though again, those latter two were mainly working off a cartoony template they did well with.

Kevin Spacey was great and a severe case of "actor too good for the movie he's in".

I grew up with the Gene Hackman luthor so him.
Special mentions to Kevin Spacey developing Frank Underwood in Superman Returns though.
But the answer from all of us should've been Bryan Cranston if they didn't f***ed up the casting of Batman v Superman.

Superman's biggest foe needs to have the presence to stand up to a god and show no fear, instead we got a guy who can't bring fear to a kitten. To quote Jay Z, Jesse Eisenberg can't even bust a grape in a fruit fight.

I'm confident that his portrayal could believably put the fear into a super strong flying alien and billionaire vigilante.

Much like Mark Hamil for Joker, Clancy Brown for Luthor.
Live action... eh Spacey or Hackman.
Granted neither were playing what I generally thinking of Luthor since... well Spacey was reprising Hackman and in the comics at the time of the original Superman Movie Luthor was still in regular mad scientist mode.

I won't count animation, otherwise Clancy Brown runs away with it.
I've got to go with Michael Rosebaum. Smallville was a horrendous adaptation of Superman, and it butchered the DCU. However, amidst all the garbage, Rosenbaum gave an incredible performance as Lex Luthor, perfectly capturing the character. I wish like hell that his Lex was in BvS.

Just state he abandoned his son and lets him spend the rest of his life in prison while the real Luthor shows up. Kill two birds with one stone.

Clancy Brown. I like menacing corporate Luthor, not wacky goofy intellectual crap Luthor like Hackman or Spacey or Mark Zuckerberg.
