Spider-man Spin offs apparently part of the MCU (or not?)

Despite what originally was announced Amy Pascal had an interview today for Spider-man Homecoming.

When talking about the upcoming Venom and Black Cat/Silver Sable movie she said that they are tied into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Tom Holland may appear in them.

This was apparently news to Kevin Feige given his reaction to her talking about it...



I mean those movies without any kind of tie to Spidey would be pretty stupid... but... Marvel Studios has said for months that it's an Entirely Sony production... and Sony saying it's not tied to the MCU at all from the jump... this just confuses things even more.

She's talking out of her ass. Feiges reaction solidifies it. Marvels gonna make their 3 Spider-Man films, they'll be quality and then Sony is going to ruin it with whatever they do.

If they do a Venom movie without Spidey, it won't make sense. If they include Holland, he'll get dragged into the inevitable shit-show that it will be.

The funny thing is that she no longer the chairman of Sony. She got kick out of that after the Sony email hack pretty much show what a Dixie she was and now she run her own "production" company with the only credit so far being Spider-Man Homecoming and Ghostbusters 2016. Luckily Marvel is in charges so she won't turn Homecoming into another Ghostbusters disaster.

Didn't watch the whole vid - but based on the quotes I've read it seems like she's trying to say they're creating their own Spidey-verse that will be interconnected, but independent of the MCU. So Venom could appear in a future Spiderman or Silver Sable movie, but NOT in an Avengers or GotG movie.

The original idea and how it was being promoted prior to this particular interview was that Venom would have nothing to do with the MCU and Spidey wouldn't be involved...

which I mean I guess you could make a movie out of but... it's not really venom without the Spider-man connection.

Sable and Black Cat is a little more reasonable... though Black Cat without any relation to Spidey does kinda just make her any of a hundred other sexy cat burglars in fiction

I think eventually they're going to have no choice but to connect the universes. There's absolutely no point in having a Venom film without Spider-Man and it would be ridiculous that Peter would just be left hanging dealing with Venom, Carnage, etc.
