Hopefully after 2020. Don't get me wrong, having new iterations of consoles is awesome and all, but I don't think we've seen anything that's truly screaming for a new, more powerful piece of hardware console wise.

It just feels like everyone's starting to get their big games out now, so hopefully we don't see any new consoles for few years at least. Especially with the incremental upgrades they've released/Microsoft are releasing.

PS 3: November 2006
PS 4: November 2013
Seems like they're going by 6-7 year cycles. So yeah 2020, no later than 2021.

I still have my PS2. 3 didnt appeal to me at all and 4 seems like a waste of money really.

Anything post 2020 is fine by me. I just hope we don't see it before then. PS4 games look really nice, and they just released that buffed up one, so hopefully that'll be the gap for those concerned with higher fidelity graphics. Hopefully the next PS would support 4K @ 60FPS, and I can't see the price being right for a little while longer.

I think we'll see a couple more powerful PS4's than a PS5 anytime soon. Same with the Xbox One and whatever name they come up with for their successor console.

Hopefully soon. I've been wanting to buy a PS4 for months but the price of the console doesn't seem to be coming down at all. Once the 5 comes out i'll be able to pick up a PS4 cheaply.

2020 maybe. At the very least 2021
I think they wanted PS4 to have close to a 10 year life span but I can't see it happening
Also taking into account i'm pretty sure they are going to want you to have a 4K TV for that system so once they feel a good amount of homes have it, they will pounce

To be fair, it hasn't been much of a thing in the UK for long (probably since 2012(?)) so it wasn't like a traditional thing. But yeah, they've done some damn good deals for PS4s at that time, especially on Amazon. If you can get one with something like Horizon: Zero Dawn and another big title, all the better. |
