I still think Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes on Degrassi is one of the most random. Was there a Canadian teen obsession with Kevin Smith in the mid 2000's?

Pretty sure they just asked him as a solid, as that was around the time he started becoming incredibly open about how much he loves Canada. It was either an interview I saw or heard about through here, but he said when he started making a profit on Clerks, he went to the library to buy all the Degrassi VHS tapes. Since they were not actually property of the library (think they were only leased to them), he paid the value: $5,000. All because he missed "School's Out" when it originally aired. |

Story goes Billy and Robin were passing the set at the time of recording so the producers squeezed them into a cameo. Everything in the scene was improvised. |
