I am surprised they never tried to make a Jetsons kids show considering they were sort of doing the "kid phase" around this time. Tom and Jerry Kids came out a few years later
Also love Captain Caveman

Please everyone keep posting about cartoons from my childhood so I can get sad im a 29 year old with no amount of joy any more.
I can't remember too much about this other than it existed and I watched it.

This was one of Hanna Barbera's recurring stages of taking an idea that worked (A Pup Named Scooby Doo, the original Scooby Doo) and trying it with literally everything else to varying degrees of quality.
Flintstone Kids was ok. Yo Yogi! was pretty terrible.
HB is one of my favourite animation studios of all time but when it was shameless, it was SHAMELESS.

I vaguely remember some magazine stating that a "Jetsons Juniors" was in the works around this time. Obviously, nothing came of it. (would still be better than Tiffany Judy though.)
Another non-HB extension of this fad: The New Archies. Cousin of the fad: James Bond Jr. And how about what started this trend probably: MUPPET DAMN BABIES.
I know FK has a bad rep from animation purists and people who say it botches the Flintstones canon. But as a kid I watched it and loved it. It jumped the shark when they changed the voices though...the original young Fred and Wilma sounded just like how younger versions of the adult characters would be. The new versions sounded like generic youngsters. And I think they dubbed older episodes over with the new voices, no?
Other random thoughts:
Captain CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVEMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN! And son! Dad, dad!
Mrs. Flintstone = Fred in drag.

Maybe Jane and Elroy were....CYBORGS ALL ALONG built by young George?

To be fair, Archie Comics published a "Little Archie" comic since the 60s (not sure if they still do), so they were ahead of the curve. There's also a merchandise brand called "Disney Babies". but thankfully we never got an animated series out of that (maybe Disney saw the reaction to Baby Looney Tunes).

I thought this thread was going to be about Flinstones Chew-able vitamins, you know like the jingle?: "We are Flinstones Kids, ten million strong and growing."

The only thing I remember about this is the theme song. As soon as I saw this thread the words went through my head.

I am surprised they never tried to make a Jetsons kids show considering they were sort of doing the "kid phase" around this time. Good reason for that: because they were in the midst of producing & airing new episodes of The Jetsons at the time. All the actors were still alive so I guess H/B made the decision to go with continuing the show rather than a newfangled revamp. (When I was a kid I thought the Jetsons eps airing in the '80s were from the original run - when in fact there'd only been 1 season of Jetsons in the '60s, meaning I was watching new episodes and didn't know the difference. lol.)

I could tell the difference as the '60s eps. had a film look to them. And the title cards invented for them in the new run had "uneven" font unlike the '80s episodes. Oddly, a Deviantart page is the only reference I could find for plans about Jetsons Juniors: slappy427.deviantart.com/art/HB-Kids-66-Jetsons-80854503(I guess we also had repeats of The Space Kidettes for that sort of thing too...)

Around this time, we also got a show with Pebbles and Bamm Bamm as teenagers. The only interesting characters in that one were Fred and Barney, who, of course, were reduced to supporting roles.

Not exactly. The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show aired one season from 71 to 72. Flintstones Kids aired from 86 to 88. And after that in 93 was "I Yabba Dabba Do", where Pebbles and Bamm Bamm got married.

I also wished some of Flintstone kids characters as well the original characters from the Pebbles and Bam Bam show made a cameo in Pebbles and Bam Bam's wedding. You could have retconned Dreamchip being Cindy or Fabian's mother. And why wasn't Joe Rockhead on the Flintstons kids show.

Yup. You may remember it in the 80s being rerun on USA Cartoon Express. There was also The Flintstone Comedy Show where they appear as teens.

Also, Michael Jackson (as Michael Jackstone, of course) appeared on the show too as part of an anti-drug special (though the song he performed, Just Say No, was actually sung by Kipp Lennon due to legal reasons). www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ih4tBBiPTc

Lil Archie still has new stories. But it doesn't have a monthly title.
