If a player's obnoxious, shoe-peddling dad is the centerpiece of sports coverage, as opposed to the player, that says WAY more about sports media than my standards of relevance. Well ok? But just because YOU don't deem him relevant doesn't make it the case. Dude has made a name for himself and his kids by being obnoxious and hilarious. Good or bad, he's a current name in pop culture and would be a decent headline grabber celeb to rope onto the show for a guest spot. And in two months, he'll be an unanswerable trivia question, so....admittedly, you're right, pretty much dead in Vince's wheelhouse. Like someone else said earlier, this is this year's "Grumpy Cat" guest host. EDIT: Actually, I take that back. Youtube fame is at least international fame, however fleeting. Nobody outside of America gives a shit about the NBA. Grumpy Cat gets the nod here.

Have any of the people typing "who" ever heard of google? Like seriously, it would take you probably no more than 3 seconds to google "LaVar Ball". Who should I be googling?

If anything, he'll be an even bigger media presence since he got pretty much exactly what he wanted for his son and the next NBA season (his son's first) doesn't even start until October.

And good luck on him going away. If his son takes off, he'll be around for a long time. (Youtube fame > NBA Star. God, how ridiculous are we wrestling fans sometimes. Geeeeeeez. Lets ask China if they care about Basketball.)

Said it before but it for real is hilarious how many people say WWE needs to get with the times when you can tell from thier posts that they don't know what's actually hot in the streets right now.

Who you fooling? Maybe if they got the son, we could have a discussion. If his dad's the most impressive thing about him, this dude is probably gonna go away, real quick.

Okay, fine, he makes overpriced shoes and is an obnoxious asshole. This makes him culturally relevant how? Well he's the father of the #2 draft pick in the 2017 NBA draft and has made a serious of bold claims that have caused many people not just involved in basketball but all sports and contemporary media to widely discuss him on TV and the internet. I'm not saying you have to like him but to call him irrelevant would just be a lie. He's made himself famous simply by running his mouth to the point where people showed more interest in him than his son when it came to draft day.

I mean, for f***'s sake, this is pro wrestling. Running your mouth and talking a lot of shit is how most of the biggest names were created, lmao.

If his dad's the most impressive thing about him, this dude is probably gonna go away, real quick. He's the mouthpiece and he's popular for that. His son is the platform. But that doesnt even matter RIGHT NOW. Because the NBA season doesnt start until October. Right now? Lavar is in the spotlight and is lead hypeman. WWE should jump on it because RIGHT NOW. he is relevant and part of NBA culture.

Yeah, and if it was this dude's kid getting on Raw from doing it, then cool. If the dad is getting more famous than the number two draft pick, I'd bet money on this dude not being the next Kobe.

The future doesnt matter because we can't book for hypotheticals. Lavar is a star right now. They get him in. They get a headline or two because he's a star currently. If his son flames out. It doesnt matter because the season doesnt even start for months and NBA careers last a long ass time.

The WWE can bring back Jesus Christ to appear on Raw and people will still be going who and what is so special about this dude.
There will be a significant % of the fanbase who will be excited to see LaVar which is more than you can say about the majority of wrestlers.

In what world does that make any sense, lmao? The kid hasn't even played an NBA game yet. He could be butt, he could be amazing, we don't know yet. His dad is getting the attention because he's the one talking. When the kid starts balling (no pun intended) in the league, he's gonna be getting all the press along with his goofball dad. It's a bad argument you're making.

What person with worldwide name recognition would ever appear on a wrestling show? Lavar would probably be the best they could hope for.

And hell, Bradley Cooper phoned it in HARD, but at least he put in a pre-tape. Oh, and Snoop's been around before, and I'd argue that he's probably got more reason than ever to pop in for a cheap pop.

Said it before but it for real is hilarious how many people say WWE needs to get with the times when you can tell from thier posts that they don't know what's actually hot in the streets right now. In 1986, Herb, the guy who was referenced in Burger King commercials around that time period, was a guest timekeeper at Wrestlemania 2. And we all know that appearance was a real whopper. This just in: Susan Saint James' hot take on LaVar Ball showing up on an episode of Raw: "Uh oh."
