- Carmella wins with the help of Ellsworth - Bryan strips Carmella of the MITB so they redo it again - There are NO RULES in these matches so it just feels like blatant favoritism and makes people sympathize with the heel due to it - They ban Ellsworth from the arena - Match happens, Ellsworth comes back anyway even though he was banned from the arena - Carmella wins the MITB again
So... Daniel and Shane are the worst, Road Dogg is the ABSOLUTE WORST, and they had a completely pointless Womens MITB, oh and a pointless Naomi/Lana rematch to boot that basically ended Lana's career, awesome honorable mention there. And overall they did a finish they could have easily done at the PPV, and all this did was make Carmella look good and Bryan look like a damn fool
Overall, terrible week for the girls, terrible Gauntlet Match, terrible Ladder Match. If this is the WOMENS EVOLUTION, we're going in reverse...

It was pretty much what was always going to happen.
They wanted the image of Carmella getting the briefcase from the top of the ladder to use forever more so they have that.
Now why they didn't just do that at the PPV instead of giving that title to a man, I'll never know but hey, there's a new slide for the next Women's Revolution documentary.

The point of it was to pop a rating first with the controversy and then through a ladder match to prop the show up until Cena comes back. Nothing more.

The original way was a great manner of bringing heat to Carmella.
it gave carmella and ellsworth more moments to shine as sleazy heels.
It wasnt that bad. I feel this was more to not set a precedent for future MITB of
"oh Carmella had it handed, everyone should do the same!"

So the women get a ladder match, but we're going in reverse ...ok. When 3 years ago they might get a 2 minute match on Raw.
I liked the match though and Carmella was always the choice to win. As she should since she'll do the most with it. Really, I think they just wanted to have a ladder match on SD and this was their plan. It put Carmella over huge twice.

I don't mind. Carmella won the first time through shady means even for ladder matches, I think the rematch made sense, and Carmella winning again gives her more heat and was an excuse to get an exciting (on paper, anyway) match on TV. I'm not on the edge of my seat for any of this but I don't think it's that problematic either.
As a side note I like how, based on no actual information, both Raw and Smackdown respectively have a guy that we blame for bad things and a guy who gets credit for good things. If good things happen, it's Ryan Ward or Triple H finally taking the reigns, bad things happen, Vince McMahon and Road Dogg.

Because Road Dogg's a f***ing idiot? I don't even just blame Road Dogg, this kind of weirdness has been going on forever. They're a company that thinks complex storytelling is making things more complicated and nonsensical just to expand the feuds for another month instead of doing things that has worked for wrestling for literally decades that people know. So it shouldn't be a surprise, this just hurts the credibility of an entire match type for a bump in the ratings/shock value/whatever reason this week.

Also to capitalize on all the hype GLOW on Netflix has been getting. And I don't read the NXT Spoilers but I'm betting Asuka vs. Nikki Cross is the main event. So we had three shows in a row headlined by women. Which is wise as hell in case GLOW brought in anymore first time or casual women viewers. Gauntlet, Money in the Bank, and Last Woman Standing. Well f***ing played WWE

Is anyone seriously checking out GLOW that isn't a wrestling die hard? And for those who aren't and are just randomly watching it, why would a 1980s set show about a women's fed prompt you to turn on WWE in the random chance that they would main event women's matches? I feel like I should write Netflix and demand a show based on 1980s Memphis now.
Anyway, based on the booking of this match tonight why wouldn't Bryan simply strip Carmella of MITB next week since Ellsworth did basically the same thing? He was banned from ringside and interfered.
Further, it baffles me that no one on the SD creative team has noticed the jarring idiocy of the big picture booking here. You have 5 women killing themselves in MITB while someone who has never wrestled in her life has gotten TWO title shots for no apparent reason. At this point Bryan should simply give Becky a make good title shot to make up for these various MITB screwjobs. It's not like anything on SD at this point is based on the slightest bit of merit.

In this case, Daniel can't really do much of anything since Becky beautifully eliminated James from the picture. Mella won that on her own this time.

The only reason they had a rematch is because Ellsworth took down the briefcase for Carmella. He didn't do that this time. They've already established that interferences are allowed for MITB matches, just not somebody who isn't involved in the match taking down the briefcase. Plus, he didn't take out Becky like he did at the PPV. He pushed Carmella into the ring and climbed the ladder only to be pushed off. Carmella won because she took a chair to Becky and not cause Ellsworth grabbed the briefcase.
