Be it from your youth, high school, college or God bless yah if you got a sniff at the pros.
I suck at sports so I don't have much on the field stories but this one has to be my favorite. So its Babe Ruth level baseball and I'm in 7th grade playing the typical position of left out. My friend Matt (R.I.P.) and I were bullshiting on the bench and he goes "You know in Major League where Willie Mays Hayes jumps over the catcher? Well if there is a play at the plate I'm going to try that." Lo and behold what happens? He gets into a play at the plate. The catcher clips him he goes ass over teakettle and is a bit shaken up. Also I learned that day if you do anything but slide at the plate you're out at least in Babe Ruth.

I used to play highschool football. We were up against a team that had a running back who won couple of Track Events in Provincials so he's one of the best runners if not the best runner in the entire province of Alberta. Basically they dominated us in the first half 28-7. We managed to comeback and win the game at 35-28. We were so pissed off heading to the locker room especially when we heard how cocky the other team was. And just something just clicked, like our coach must have stolen the teams playbook because we just found a way to completely shut down that RB and their QB was pretty crappy who couldn't throw for shit. I never seen a team so devastated after.
Another time we were heading to a town with almost the entire roster injured. So me and my friend were on the field for 44 plays in a row. Offense, Defense, Special Teams. First and only time I played as an Offensive Tackle. Actually broke my hand in that game and didn't know it was broken for two weeks. And played one of my best games ever two weeks later.
