Oh I agree completely, but there are aspects of how they work that would beneficial to business now, the getting people invested in the in ring portion portion and getting people invested in characters portion. There just needs to be more newer faces that can do that AND adapt to the business in 2017. And no, one of them isn't Billy Corgan. Not with those two. I know Cornette understands that wrestling should be made important, but he's far too archaic in his approach- I wouldn't want him handling my wrestling cards. Russo does realize characters should be emphasized, but I don't want his style of character work anywhere near my talent. Oh agreed. The stuff I was meaning was more the ideas and foundations than anything on top of it.

Bruce Prichard claims that Russo pitched Vic Venom as a character, McMahon told him yes, but after watching that segment McMahon told Russo that it was the worst thing he ever saw in his life.

If Corny could be completely isolated from the booking side of things, he would be an asset to any promotion, the problem is he wants to run everything to his liking, audience be damned. Russo, I'm not sure he has anything to contribute at this point, he had ten years and a big budget to do it with WCW then TNA and he did nothing for either in the long run, at least with Corny you can make the case that had he not stepped in, Ring of Honor would most likely be WWE network filler content now. I'm not sure how hiring a hot tempered outspoken racist would be a good PR asset for a major company.

Sadly, after the first week or so, nobody would care as he's just another racist in an industry filled with them.

Corny is behind the times, but can still contribute to any wrestling company. He has gone on record stating he is most likely done doing anything aside from one off appearances and fanfests. He even recently has started to muse on his podcast that he might stop the one off managing at the end of this year due to him doing it for so long and his aches and pains from years gone by. If you watch a shoot from 10-15 years ago compared to his podcast now, he has calmed down quite a bit. I tend to agree with him on most wrestling related topics (I'm fine with some comedy in wrestling, but I don't want to watch a guy wrestling a blowup doll or a fake grenade spot).
As far as the Young Bucks and him go, he has stated numerous times that he likes them as people (they even had dinner together on his 50th birthday), he just doesn't like their spots and psychology in the ring.

That's Russo in a nutshell. He regularly comes up with ideas that honestly sound really good or interesting on paper, but when given the chance he's never been able to carry them out in a compelling, entertaining or even sane manner.

Vince Russo is a dumb out-of-touch racist. Also, a sexist homophobe. Just because he said some mean things about women and gay people?

Just because he said some mean things about women and gay people? Yep. Pretty much. Yep; and then acting on it, too, by booking women and ethnic minorities into belittling matches and angles and justifying it with asinine comments about how people only care about the women as sex objects or people not caring about wrestlers who "only speak Spanish or Japanese" or whatever.

I don't remember the full story, but there was a promoter he freely admitted to attempting to run down with his car for trying to f*** him over repeatedly, given he had already been tried for it. It was during SMW, I don't really remember the specifics much. So yeah, odds are, Cornette isn't going to do anything, but I do think having a wife who can talk some sense into him is part of it. He's certainly got the anger problem. Ok fine Mostly all bluster But still the only reason VR keeps talking about Cornette is because he knows Cornette would respond. And that's all he really wants, people talking about him... he doesn't care if it's in a positive or negative light... he just wants attention. Agree, Vince Russo is loving all of the attention he is getting here. It's why both Meltzer and Bischoff both say they don't like talking about him, because it is what he wants. Cornette bit hook, line, and sinker, however at the same time, Cornette isn't much better in this area(much more talented, just an attention whore as well). He says ridiculous stuff to get attention, knowing that is what people want to hear, so of course he went way over the top. Do I think there is legit heat? Yes, but at the same time Cornette still is willing to make money off of it. Bischoff handled the situation the best on his podcast. He acknowledged Russo's comments and invite to his podcast, but said he wanted nothing to do with him or anything that could make him money and that was it. That is the best way to handle Russo if you legitimately don't like him, because that will hurt him more than anything. Give him nothing.

One of my fav Russo things is his rant about how I think the Young Bucks were hard to work with, while The Bucks had no memory of ever speaking to him.
