Hey at least the luck of the draw shows in the tourney. It shows in any tourney. No ones taking away from Blanchard or KLR, but they drew two of the more experienced girls in the Tourney. You gotta have some must watch round one matches, and those two will be just that. Just hope people don't start shitting on Sugehit or Sane because of that. And if your favorite is knocked out and that is your reason to not even watch, then that's sad imo, because there are 31 other great performers in this tourney that are I think gonna tear the house down. Well, 30 other great performers and Vanessa Borne, but yeah. Some are Borne to Fly
Some are Borne to Fail

I think Kairi goes all the way with this one. I don't know the bracket, but I'm going to guess she will meet Bayzsler in the final. I remember with the CWC, everyone thought it was a foregone conclusion that Ibushi and ZSJ were going to meet in the final. The only difference is that Kairi is signed (right?) whereas Ibushi and ZSJ held out and never actually signed. I also think that a Kairi vs Asuka match may just be on the horizon after Kairi takes the tournament. The creative team would be stupid not to do it before Asuka gets called up. The CWC guys got fast tracked to the main roster and with how desperately the main roster needs new faces in the womens division they may fast track several of these women to the main. Also as far as signings go about half the women are signed and they have an advantage here even Meltzer thinks with the far less opportunities to make real money women have on the indies, he can't see any of them turning down deals if they get contracts put in front of them.

I think Kairi is gonna end Asuka's reign to give her an "out" to get to the main roster, while Kairi becomes the new "unstoppable asian queen" of NXT.

I'm just hoping that people are going to be careful about not setting their expectations to the point where it somehow morphs into "This is what was supposed to happen, but WWE changed it just to screw with us!" again...

Not sure about the match quality, but I'm hearing that the crowd was massively buying into Gabert. She seems to have the monster heel presence that WWE act like that Nia Jax has. The beginning of this match had the crowd red hot. Sounds cliche, but they, without spoiling too much, sort of did a Rocky/Drago spot that had everyone screaming.

I'm so salty that they fed Tessa Blanchard to Kairi on the 1st round. Stupid decision. Also, that pirate gimmick looks stupid af. I'm trying to remember, but I think Kairi and Mia were probably the most over on the night. Not a single person around me even hinted at saying the pirate gimmick felt cheezy.

Damn, did any of the more physically imposing girls win? Was hoping Gabert or Beckett would advance, they need some more bruisers. Actually, Bianca Belair felt pretty physical against Beckett. She felt like a nice surprise considering I thought Beckett would be the Goliath v David. Def a nice surprise.

Wrestling Inc has a great, detailed set of spoilers from a guy who attended. Good work dude! wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2017/0713/628102/live-spoilers-wwe-mae-young-classic-tapings/Interesting to see the revolving door for WWE guests (or I guess revolving seats) at ringside. From the report it sounds like it's been done to emphasis the different episodes. The majority of the women's locker room seem to take turns, but some notable specifics are Kassius Ohno, Montez Ford and Johnny Gargano sitting ringside for their girlfriend, fiancé and wife respectfully, Naomi at ringside for Serena (friend and worked together in FCW), Ronda Rousey for her fellow horsewoman and Izzy sitting alongside Baymella! I hope this isn't the last we see of Jazzy. I've long thought she should be in WWE, and with her getting such a positive reaction, I'd be surprised if they didn't think about giving her a contract.

I'm glad Gabert is getting buzz, but Laith really is something special. Pushing her right off the bat as a hard-hitting underdog face is the right move.

Rita Chatterton in the 1980s was WWF's first full-time female ref. She also ended up accusing Vince of rape. Guessing that's why they're pretending she didn't exist.

It's worth noting that aside from "We gotta put on some good first sound matches", using some of the more credible entries in the first round to make the longer term prospects look good is just basic tournament booking. Kairi is obviously going to be a big deal here and I wouldn't be surprised if Sugehit gets at least to the semis. Especially if English-speaking audiences may be more likely to be familiar with the UK scene than CMLL, that's just establishing credibility. Kairi is more impressive with an experienced worker who can put on a good match than she is beating a Performance Center student.

Looks like Nicole Matthews is wrestling tonight, maybe in one of the bonus matches with the eliminated wrestlers. Credit to Becky Lynch for the pic.

Laith and Evers have reportedly had a belter of a match, some saying better than the best ones of Night 1.
And Sane v Belair might have topped it, apparently.

This tourney is gonna be a game changer.
These ladies are hitting moves that I was not expecting at all. Especially not from Performance Center wrestlers.
Bianca Bel Air hit a freakin' 450!!!!
