Think it took over Shotgun's airings...but yes, good times at 11 pm here, Saturday nights on WLNY. We called Metal "The Essa Rios Show."
Lots of before they were stars moments too...I think Christopher Daniels appeared often, and there was an AJ Styles vs. Hurricane match at one point, in which Styles was the only other person besides Stevie Richards to take the Vertebreaker in the WWE.

I remember in 2001, there was an absolutely amazing Jerry Lynn v Chris Daniels match I almost wore the VHS out watching.

Especially when the InVasion occurs. I plan on doing a series for 2001 and that match will be included. I've never watched it before so hopefully it holds up well!

I can't remember if it was Metal or Jakked but I do remember a Crash vs Low Ki match being amazing on one the shows.

Jakked replaced Shotgun Saturday Night (later just Shotgun), right? That was on around 12-1 am in my area.
I miss those syndicated weekend shows. Any of them.
Hell, I miss syndicated TV. It still exists but is just so devoid of original programming and neutered with old reruns now.

Shotgun (originally Shotgun Challenge) and Shotgun Saturday Night were the same show but with different commentary teams. Shotgun aired in afternoon or prime time timeslots, while SSN aired at 11:00 PM or later. In 1999, Metal replaced Shotgun, and Jakked replaced SSN.

It still exists but is just so devoid of original programming and neutered with old reruns now. As far as I know, Shotgun was the daytime show while Shotgun SATURDAY NIGHT was the nighttime show. After having watched episodes of these on YouTube (Man, I should get out more), there were different announcers for both shows, as well as different opening credits.
