I guess this will be the official thread if anything We are getting back around that time people. Once August comes and goes the hype will be on. The premiere marks the 100th episode as well so I expect something substantial. Figure we should have the trailer at the top.

Can't wait. I don't like Fear The Walking Dead, so it feels like forever since I've gotten my fix.

Don't care what anyone says, Walking Dead has never been stale to me and I can't wait for all out war.
I do wonder though if they will somehow make it last the whole season or if it will only be first half etc etc.
I know in the comics there is a big time skip of 2 years once All out war ends.
Perhaps it will lead up to the Whisperers for Season 9.

I think Season 9 will be a mix of the build towards The Whisperers/ the fallout of the war and an original story (like they did with the hospital storyline) I can't see them rushing into The Whisperers straight away. I think it will end with The events at the Festival with the season after dealing with The Whisperer war. Which reminds me, still need to read July's issue if TWD comic.

I won't mention it but a pretty big event recently happened in the comics and I'm curious to see how they handle it on the show.
It's a while off yet but when the time comes I wonder who will play the role.

Kinda looking forward to it, but I just hope they don't do a ton of those episodes that focus on one person, I don't mind one or two but there were weeks when we didn't see Maggie & Co. last year, didn't like it.
I figure we're going to get a Negan backstory episode this season to show how he got his army together.

Instead or 1 hour of the same place, characters, taking those chunks and placing them across a few episodes so things are moving around. Plus with shorter time per episode, all those sections need to have a point, so there's less filler.

I believe there are 16 episodes in total so they pad time in between episodes. If it was like Game of Thrones when it did run at 10 episodes a year on HBO it will add a more condensed story but with the original characters for the show and comic book characters they have to find time to at least make these people important. I do agree tho I expect Negan backstory to take up a few episodes this year. Im surprised they never did that for he governor as far as his origin went but I'm not too sure his novel was out around that time

Most of Season 7 didn't catch my interest and didn't think they needed an all-Tara episode but to each their own.

With the way this season should be set up the all tara or all rosita episodes will be kept to a minimum. You'll probably get little stories for plot like Rick and his people sneaking up on Negan base or vice versa.

I wanna be excited for this, but I heard so much bad shit about Season 7b (other then the finale) that I still haven't watched it
EDIT: And I've watched this show since Day 1. It was one of my favorites but it definitely is starting to lose my interest. Hopefully All Out War pulls me back in

I believe I read that Scott Gimple said there will be less or even no episodes focused on a single character this season. I guess we'll see.

Biggest complaint is people didn't like the gloominess over it but considering Negan was a new and bigger threat than anyone else they had to sell it that way.

Ah, the end of that trailer. {Spoiler}That's how Rick eventually looks in the comics, and he walks with a cane. Wonder if there will be flash forwards to the period after the war.

I am sort of surprised they would still "cripple" Rick but they didn't cut off his hand so he will still be somewhat able.
