Breaking news trade Patriots trade Jimmy G to 49ers for 2nd round pick Edit: This sucks for Kirk Cousins who just lost a lot of leverage Yeah, now Cousins only has the Browns to go to other than the Redskins..........unless Jimmy G sucks. history has shown that the odds are he will, every time New England has traded their backup who looks like he could be a great starter they've flopped hard

Edit: This sucks for Kirk Cousins who just lost a lot of leverage He lost his most obvious suitor but let's see what else is there. Chargers - Who know what is left for Rivers? If he retires or a team that feels they are a QB away from something is interested I could see them trading Rivers and making a play for him. Not likely but possible. Broncos - More likely than most would think I'd say. Trevor is fast out of popularity, Brock is a wash and Paxton is a question. Arizona - Again, who knows how long Carson will be around. Jacksonville - Depends on the Bortles situation. Indy - Depending on the health of Luck which is a complete question mark. They have Jacoby for a few more years but do they think he's the guy? Browns - Guess it all depends on the front office. NYJ - Again I'd say it depends on the front office. Pats - Never say never only because they always seem to take us by surprise. Tom and Bill ride off into the sunset and someone else takes over with him? Giants - Who knows how long Eli wants to put up with that team? A sudden retirement and they are in the hunt. Redskins - Obvious.

Lots of people around here saw him as the heir apparent to Brady. Brady is going to be 41 next season, and the Patriots don't have a backup, like at all.
The Pats are taking a QB early this year... which sucks because they need to revamp both lines badly.

Jaguars are my sleeper pick. I'm sure if they got to pay money to a QB they rather pay it to him than Bortles Other then that you got Jets (probably will draft a QB), Browns (Might draft a QB, still have Kizer), or back to Redskins

Big Ben has been on the retirement seesaw for the last few years and if he retired this offseason they have themselves a target

As a Pats fan I don't know how to react other than wtf.
So until I figure it out I'll be watching Adam Schefter wiggle his way out of being a dick during and before the draft about the Pats not trading Jimmy lmao NOT EVEN 4 FIRST ROUND PICKS lol

I think the other thing that's going to suck for Cousins is Minnesota. They aren't going to have 3 starters on their Roster at the same time although I could see them having 2. It's not like Keenum and Bradford are elite QB's, but they have both showed real progress and talent. So there are other veteran starter options that are hitting the market.

Also depends if they still believe in Bridgewater

So according to Ian Rappaport the Cleveland Browns didn't offer the #12 overall pick for Garroppolo after all. That helps bring this trade into focus.
The Patriots didn't get what they wanted at the draft so they decided to hold on to him until now.
The Patriots know they can't keep both QB's after this season and apparently believe that Brady can play well into his 40's so they traded Garroppolo for the best offer.
It is a major risk considering the rate that Brady has been getting hit this season. Still given Bill's track record it's hard to argue against him.

But they can file an appeal..which of course they will.
At this point, either have him serve the six games or don't. I'd obviously rather he didn't, but f*** this endless: "he's suspended..no he's not.. yeah he is...no he's not" is just stupid.

Elliot will be out for the Falcons, Chiefs, Eagles, Chargers, Redskins, and Giants games if it holds up
At this point it's either see if you can hold on for a playoffs spot contention without him or risk holing yourself six games without him next year, like Alfred Morris isn't Elliot but he's not THAT bad...
And the Cowboys are 4-3 even with Elliot, they ain't setting the world on fire because their defense is pretty damn dire, but even if I hate the Cowboys Elliot's proven to be a difference maker so... I guess we'll see.

If he's out for that length of time, Philly probably is able to get the East by default.

By the way, the Patriots better have a back up by practice tomorrow on the extremely off chance Brady gets hurt at practice. I know they wear the red shirt and all, but non contact injuries can happen
