There won't be any Sunday night Football to end the season. So it's only appropriate that the subtitle for the Week 17 thread should be "SNF? We Don't need no stinkin SNF" Oops, sorry. On that note, I was thinking, maybe there should just be one discussion thread for the whole postseason?

I love Cobb but considering the amount of talent at that position in Green Bay, he is fairly expendable now.

Eagles Second Round Pick CB Sidney Jones has been activated from IR and will play Sunday vs Dallas
Jones was the top CB overall in the draft until an Achilles Injury, The Eagles gambled on him, and now he'll be in the rotation for the Playoffs and get some reps vs Dallas. He's sorely needed after the Eagles secondary has looked a bit suspect the last two weeks.

Packers signed center Corey Linsley to a 3 year deal that averages 8.5 million a season in new money www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21917618/green-bay-packers-sign-corey-linsley-contract-extensionthis definitely means Cobb will be traded, cut or asked to take a pay cut to me there's only so much money to go around and the defense sucks and Aaron Rodgers is signed through 2019, he needs to be brought back assuming he performed as the football god he was before being hurt and rushing back way too soon

The Tampa Bay Times reports Bucs coach Dirk Koetter will return in 2018. I can't wrap my head around this. The Buccaneers were projected by many to be one of the surprise teams of 2017, with several predicting they would make a run at the NFC South championship. But they've bottomed out at 4-11, they're a woefully undisciplined team, and they looked like they threw in the towel on this season about a month and a half ago. What has Dirk Koetter done over the last few weeks to salvage his job?

And despite Jameis proving this season to be a complete baby who has rather regressed in his skills, Tampa Bay still wants to have him as their star QB.

Lovie would have this team at least in a winning record.

Age is working for Jameis He still only just turned 24 There's no doubt he took a step back tho and hasn't exactly been "Famous Jameis" in the pros

So the Raiders going after Gruden Why people keep going after Gruden after all these years is beyond me I can't wrap my head around it, either. The last time Jon Gruden coached an NFL game was on Dec. 28, 2008. The game hasn't just passed him by, the game has gone in cycles past him. The last time Gruden patrolled an NFL sideline, the Wildcat formation was still a burgeoning offensive gameplan. Think about all that's happened in the NFL since Gruden was last coaching. Run-first gimmick quarterbacks like Robert Griffin III, Tim Tebow, and Colin Kaepernick hadn't even played a down yet. Ray Lewis was still a defensive force for the Ravens. The pistol formation hadn't even been seen yet. Brett Favre was an MVP candidate. Tom Brady was 31 and Adam Vinatieri was 36. It's crazy to think about how much the game has changed in the last 10 years and yet owners and general managers are somehow convinced Jon Gruden can just stroll onto an NFL sideline and coach a team like it's 2002 all over again. An entire era of players has come and gone since he last donned a headset.

An entire era of players has come and gone since he last donned a headset. Exactly. While he was a great young mind in the game, he's no longer young and I think something to bring up as well is a good amount of players in the NFL now know he used to coach but have never seen him draw up plays so they will only know him as the goofy dude off Monday Night Football I just don't think he has the passion for the game anymore as he would have been came back. ESPN is probably paying him a ton of money and he has the Jeff Van Gundy effect of we see you on TV every week and want to hire you based upon your past success. Gruden has kept his options open which is why you never hear him bad mouth or say anything bad ever when he does broadcast but I think he's just a bad choice in this modern NFL The fact that the Raiders is willing to give him an ownership stake is a big mistake and I think this might be an offer he can't refuse even if he doesn't want to coach anymore. Also yea f*** you Jack Del Rio is what the Raiders are saying. One bad season and he's out the door
