That is my reason. Ben Kingsley played it SO good and I loved Iron Man 3 and that twist completely killed my enjoyment of it. See, I'm in the opposite camp that thought the Pre Twist Mandarin was REALLY corny (You'lllllll Neeeevveeerrrr Seeeee Meeeee Cooommmiiinnngggg), and that The Twist was the only thing that redeemed it. Plus, I thought it made an interesting point about manufactured boogey men created to keep the populace scared. Kind of a daring statement to be made in a popular superhero film, I thought. Hm, that's a really interesting interpretation. Now I wish they had brought that to the fore a lot more and explored it. And it actually runs parallel to Stark's character arc in the movie, where he overcomes his own constructed fears and anxieties. Stark must find out who the real villain really is, while finding out that he is Iron Man, with or without the suit.

for what it's worth my Brother and Father liked that version of Mandarin. my father is not at all a comic book guy and my Brother is slightly aware of it and knows who the Mandarin was ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) that said apparently the real Mandarin is somewhere in the Marvel Universe ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Plus, I thought it made an interesting point about manufactured boogey men created to keep the populace scared. Kind of a daring statement to be made in a popular superhero film, I thought. "As I looked out over that city-- nobody knew I was there, nobody could see me, no one was even looking-- I had a thought that would guide me for years. Anonymity, Tony. Thanks to you, it's been my mantra ever since... You simply rule from behind the scenes. Because the second you give evil a face... you hand the people a target." I think that's what saved the twist for me, because I'm so much more of a politics nerd than a comic book nerd. Like you said, that was a really daring statement to make, for a comic book movie; a private military creating their own supervillain, in essence setting up a perpetual war to profit from.

The musical numbers in Blues Brothers 2000 were top notch.

Iron Man and War Machine go to work at the end of Iron Man 2. The movie was solid, but the ending was really anticlimactic. You can definitely tell Favreau was rushed to get it done.

Fist of the North Star (live action): Um, well the setting is remarkably right-ish.
But the first time Ken hit the hokuto hyakuretsu ken the movie died but also provided hilarity.

"Why, Mr. Anderson? Why, why, why? Why do you do it? Why? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom or truth?! Perhaps peace?! Could it be for love?! Illusions, Mr. Anderson, vagaries of perception! Temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose! And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love! You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson! You must know it by now! You can't win! It's pointless to keep fighting! Why, Mr. Anderson?! Why?! WHY DO YOU PERSIST?!" "Because I choose to."
