All right, it's Monday again and that means ONLY... two things? I know football's starting again soon, but in fact it's time for tournament action as the Mae Young Classic all-women tournament arrives on the WWE Network with the entire first round of competition!

We will see 16 singles bouts featuring 32 top female wrestlers from 13 nations, ranging from Performance Center rookies to second-generation talents trying to make their mark, to top-tier international stars to wily veterans, with the winners making their first step towards ultimate glory.

The brackets above detail your opening round matchups. It's too many matches to go into summary about here, but there are several high quality bouts expected from these combinations.

All that, and hopefully a Jim Ross commentary performance closer to his peak than his recent New Japan effort, FROM TODAY at 9am Eastern US Time (local times may differ)!

Couple of ground rules... NO SPOILERS of any results of Round 1 in this thread until after those episodes have been uploaded at 9am USET (6am USWT, 2pm London, 11pm Sydney). After that, the shows will be deemed as aired and it becomes your responsibility to avoid spoilers until you choose to view the matches.

Also, NO SPOILERS for further stages of the tournament in this thread at all. Those episodes will be uploaded next week.

Serena's pretty much the only person in this tournament I know anything at all about, but I'm definitely on board with it.

Hope the storytelling is better than the CWC though. That was kind of a mess of narratives that went nowhere and every other match had the same finish of a guy missing a diving move then getting hit with a finisher.

If it's like the Cruiserweight Classic and it's four matches to an episode, and they're saying it's four episodes up today, then it's the entire first round, both sides of the bracket.

Just feels weird to consume a tournament the same length of the CWC so much quicker this time around.

They may have seen from past viewing habits that people maybe fell off on keeping up with it live and preferred to come back and bingewatch anyway. I remember that's how I eventually dealt with it just because it played out over so many weeks. This way helps keep the hype-to-live-finale attention a bit more, I'd imagine.

It's kind of funny to me the clips they show to highlight more modern women in the intro. The fearlessness of Lita! The strength of Beth Phoenix! The ability of the Bellas to swap places!

Edit: The hell did this commentary sound like before they retaped it? Even as it is it's pretty botch-heavy and really stilted. Guess only so much you can expect out of Lita.
