You know, I didn't think it was possible, but Cole might be playing an even worse game than Patrick. I understand, at least in theory, his basic rationale: knowledge = power, therefore sharing that knowledge builds trust with others. But completely showing your hand to people you don't even know you can trust for two weeks in a row? Completely unprompted? Mind boggling stuff.

I just finished the episode and my emotions were all over the place the entire time. I was confused all along about why Jessica would give the advantage to Devin and not the Healers, but seeing it play out made sense. Now is it possible Jessica just made the perfect move? Clearly Devin was going to be the swing vote, and she knew Joe had an idol. She doesn’t trust Joe, so getting rid of his idol was great for her. If she was thinking it through like I assume she was, so just got rid of a member of the second biggest original tribe, she kept both Healers, and she got Joe’s idol out of there. Worst case for her in that scenario is that Joe doesn’t use the idol and Desi goes home, but there are still more positive outcomes than negative. Unfortunately she’s counterbalanced by Cole’s inability to keep a secret, but I really love this move.
I’m really surprised neither Joe or Cole found an idol in this episode since they’re the ones who know where to look and are both on new beaches. I have to imagine Joe immediately finds another idol in the next episode, which is kind of a bummer, but whatever. Great episode, especially since I was worried about doing a swap too early.

It’s good to see a Healer finally come off the board. I was worried for Chrissy for a minute.

Really a smart choice by Chrissy to stir up stuff with Roarke,Roark seemed smart and she had 5 other heelers to go back to if the merge was next round.

Cole will be ok, they don't spoil medevacs They don't spoil medevacs, but over the last few weeks they have been spoiling who loses the immunity challenges. Seriously, they did it this week, last week (by showing the Joe/Alan fight in the preview), and when Patrick got voted out (Lauren's "I don't trust gingers" comment).

Hang on. Roark is 27?!?
I legit thought she was in her early 40s.

As of right now, I'm thinking either Ben or Jessica wins this thing.
That Ben scene was so powerful. Important social message aside, it's just nice to have a scene of character development not attached to the game at all, which is becoming increasingly rare in modern Survivor.

I feel like I have to root for Dr. Mike since I tweeted about how much I like his alliance with Jessica, and even though I didn’t tag him, he found it and liked it. Dude must be going through all the mentions.
Altogether it’s a very likable cast this season aside from maybe Joe, and Lauren who doesn’t have a whole lot of personality. But even then I don’t actively dislike either of them.

I have to give it up for Chrissy this episode. She knew she was on the chopping block and managed to get both JP and that other guy on her side by playing the battle of the sexes card to get rid of Roark, who looked like she could go deep. Chrissy looks like she can go further than I thought *eliminated in episode 2*, and could possibly be a final 5 candidate if she plays her cards right.

The more I watch this season the more I marvel at the fact that J.P. got through casting. Dude has the agency of a kumquat, and a personality to match.

You know he’s dull when I completely forgot he existed earlier when I mentioned that Lauren had no personality. Dude is as plain toast as it gets. I kind of admire how boring he is honestly.

I see Ali and Ryan both in the discussion for winners as well.
