man after a slow start, I gotta say, except for maybe Desi because she's kind of just there. There really isn't anybody that I wouldn't be bummed about if they got voted off.

Desi's non edit screams idol/crazy split vote victim or straightforward vote in a double boot night

Unlucky for Jessica seems like even without the Cole connection she would have been out being a Healer/Idol Paranoia

I honestly thought Jessica would be smarter than to keep her wagon hitched to Cole even after he proved himself to be a toxic social presence time and time again. A bit upset to be proven wrong, but on the other hand, she totally played herself.
In a potentially-underreported angle from this vote: the only other person who knew Mike found an idol is gone, so despite things looking bad for the Healers, at least Mike won't have to worry about that getting out without him knowing.

Weird to not have any rooting interest this late in the game. All of these people are kinda blah.
Weird that Joe would make a big to do about having an idol at TC, which is a bold move and doesn't give people time to strategize, then ACTUALLY play it. So in one Tribal, you put an even bigger target on your back while throwing away your safety net. Joe thinks he's ahead of the game, but he's really just a meathead at his core.
I think I'll begrudgingly support Dr. Mike. Seems like a nice guy. Ben was ok early on, but the dude just complains a lot.

Blah or not, I suffered through this past season of Big Brother so it's honestly refreshing to see people actually playing a game they signed up for.

Two random thoughts on two different contestants:
*I've been pleasantly surprised by Dr. Mike. He's nowhere near as insufferable as I usually find characters of his type to be. I'm not sure why CBS reality shows have such a fascination with the "pasty, socially awkward nerd" archetype. I often feel part of the intent is for the audience to laugh at how pathetic they are, which seems insidious. Probst shading Ryan for no reason at the immunity challenge this past episode is a shining example of this.
*I've seen some online hate for Chrissy, which makes me sad. I hope she doesn't suffer the same fate a lot of older women on this show do when they're punished for playing in any way that isn't "motherly" (see also: Lil, Lisa, Dawn, etc.). Like, Chrissy has been a key figure in the past three Tribal Councils and in danger of getting voted in two of them. Of course she's not going to be a beacon of warmth and affection in that position. That the expectation is even there is one of those sexist ideas that's been prevalent on this show for a long time, although I'm always up for a discussion on Survivor's casual sexism in general.

Ben comes across like an asshole to me whenever Cole is involved. Like... how could he think his logic of it being worse for Cole to get an idol and have people know it than to just let Chrissy get it? That’s nonsense.

This season has been watching people look for idols and advantages and it's been sooooo booooring on one hand, I see why you'd say that, but on the other, it seems like mostly everyone came to play.

Man I love Ben, but he's coming across as very over-sensitive tonight. (game-wise not anything related to the Marine Corp.)

why keep Joe over Desi? Seems kind of idiotic Presumably, the line of thinking would be "she won an immunity and had a good showing in the second, so we should cut that off before she starts to really get going." From a more social standpoint, Joe's a toxic presence that nobody really wants to work with. Cole and Mike probably flipped to try and get in good with the majority alliance. Desi's just there, not really a threat, but not a non-entity either. That person becomes more dangerous than the loose cannon as the game proceeds. But enough of all that, can we talk about how freaky that shot of Ryan's heart beating in his chest was? That was unsettling as hell.

Dang guys, you had to vote out all my Survivor crushes back-to-back in order of hotness. Ali then Jessica then Desi, really?? Even got Roark before Ali and she was my backup hottie too, now I have to sit here and watch gangly dudes like Ryan shirtless with his heart bursting through his chest for every immunity challenge now instead of Hotness Personified in a skimpy bikini.
I mean seriously, did you SEE how great Desi's body was? Who votes that out?!? I can't wait to see her post-Ponderosa look w/ makeup next episode, of course. Small silver lining there. And Ashley is actually also got a very nice bod, not as good as Ali's or Jessica's was but it shall have to do.
*ahem* creeper stuff aside it's looking like Joe took his shot and wasted it by using the idol for himself two tribals ago. He should've done the Russel Hantz move like he's been trying to do ever since day one with his Hantz-lite routine, and protect all the female alliance members he has from getting the axe via idol play. The only reason Russel is thought of as the greatest player of all time and even more hated than Joe was at the last tribal is because the idol play was flawless and Russell had so many people willing to follow him and act as shields despite knowing how big of a dick he was. Nobody wants to follow Joe not even Desi when it was in her bests interests to (did she vote for Lauren or did Joe? It makes his 'I didn't flip!!' comment even more pathetic if she figures out that he actually wrote her name down the first vote).
My first pick was Jessica, my second is Chrissy she's the actual mastermind of the game not Ben.
