About the time he became a cult leader without any followers, not even the buzzards

Might be the Undertaker feud, because that really solidified his turn from Max Cady to Merlin the Magician.

You remember that Raw episode where Cena basically solo-killed the Wyatt Family by himself while Big Show and Mark Henry cheered him on? That was both sad and funny.

I still think the guy is talented and wish they'd do something else with him, but I gave up on the character around Mania 31. After he lost yet again but still kept calling himself "The New Face of Fear" I was like oh ok so none of this will ever actually matter.

I didn't follow his NXT stuff, so once he was exposed in the ring in that Kane match, that was it for me as far as him being a wrestler. He sucked.
They could have done damage control and had other people used to build up credibility the way a manager back in the day would. With this, Bray would be protected NO MATTER WHAT and the guy who would work the matches (let's say in this case Luke Harper) and reap the kayfabe awards. Oh, Luke loses and gets kicked out of the family? Face turn and reignited momentum. Wrestling isn't hard.
Bray shouldn't have been the focal point in the ring, that was the biggest mistake right there. It helped no one else in the 'family' and it exposed how little of a threat Bray is.
If anything, Bray Wyatt is a perfect example of what NOT to do when booking and writing.

If anything, Bray Wyatt is a perfect example of what NOT to do when booking and writing. That was always a weird choice with Bray. The obvious with him was to by and large have him sit at ringside watching his minions do the work for him, with it basically being a thing where he only really gets involved when it's needed and any time he does it means shit's going down. Bray should've been like the final boss for his group and instead it was basically Cajun Legacy with the one semi-competent wrestler and his two bumbling goons.

After his debut match at SummerSlam. He's never impressed me in the ring, and I think his character sucks. I also consider him to be the third Local Man. This actually makes sense to me. In fact, he is an example of beating guys the fans like (Bryan, Shield, Ambrose) to build credibility in order to turn around and lose to guys to Cena, Taker, Orton who don't need the rub and get nothing out of it.

For me, it was his month-long world title reign this year. Felt like their last chance left to pull the trigger on his character and move him forward, and instead he got punked by Orton immediately at 'Mania and basically just confirmed once and for all that Bray's never going anywhere.
But really, years before that it was becoming scary obvious that he was being booked exactly like Alberto del Rio, and absolutely no one in any position of power backstage realizes how apathy-inducing and career/momentum-killing that pattern is. That he's clinging to life at all in spite of that is a testament to Bray's charisma.

I tried to stay on the Bray train as long as possible, but House of Horrors might just be the point of no return.

When I realized he A) was never going to win a major feud and B) His promos say a bunch of cool sounding stuff that means nothing and has no purpose.

Honestly, I've never been into the Wyatt family's act. You have to monstrous wrestlers, yet every time they had a tag match, even in nxt, they were constantly on the defensive, even if they won.

I stopped caring about Bray when he beat Cena in that cage match via a young boy using the Black Scorpion voice. Made Bray look like a pussy and he couldn't even win semi clean.

I've always detested his promos. They are the definition of horrid.
But the moment I really hated him is when he became the lazy answer to start a feud with someone by attacking them out of nowhere for, well, reasons I guess. That feels like hundreds of years ago.

I was pretty cold on him to begin with - the gimmick was good but the matches pretty bad, honestly.
Then his ringwork took a couple steps upwards and he was working with more capable talent. 2014 was real good for him, I seem to recall, even through some dodgy booking. Agreed the Jericho feud was a dead-end, though.
But then everything pretty much...pretty much post-Reigns feud two years back has just been a yawn to me. Including his surprise title win. The guy's been running on the spot, too many bad feuds and too many forgettable promos, too many big promises and nothing delivered.
So, I guess the last couple years easy, Bray's done nothing to hold my interest.

I never stopped caring, honestly, but my belief that WWE is gonna' book Bray at a level he deserves died at Mania this year. Most of my fandom since then has felt like accepting scraps. "Yes! He beat Rollins in a meaningless PPV opener!" or "Hell yeah, he beat Finn on Raw to serve as an obvious prelude to a loss at the PPV!"

After seeing it about a half dozen times it clicked in my mind , "Wait... WHO BLOWS OUT AN LED LANTERN!?!"
It's been downhill on Bray ever since.

They just need to embrace his ultimate destiny and make a(nother) shitty Rob Zombie movie where he's the mouthpiece for a cult of cannibal clowns.
Or send him to GFW to manage oVe.
Same difference.
