If anyone can explain to me why that one Invader keeps jumping over the ropes and into the ring for no reason please do.

Bash at the Beach 1998 Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page vs Dennis Rodman and Hulk Hogan Michael Buffer's intro was written by Vince Russo The announce team talks about how this will get them some mainstream buzz. I find it almost ironic that it's the other way around now (ESPN covering WWE). Wonder how much of the paparazzi at ringside were actors. I remember reading about this in the "Death of WCW" book and Malone actually prepared for this. Rodman, not so much. Your referee for this match, Lil Naitch (the poor bastard!) This "match" was about 10 minutes too long. Rodman did NOT work very safely and that really irritated me. I wasn't a fan of Rodman at the time, and he's not helping his case here. DDP really tried to get the crowd back into it, but Hogan being Hogan... Props to Malone for his Diamond Cutters, though.

Invasion 2001 Earl Hebner vs Nick Patrick Isn't this match heel/heel? This match wasn't horrible (bowling shoe ugly). I would have enjoyed a little more brawling by the other refs, though. It was short and harmless and kinda fun. Then again, I admit to being easily entertained.

Road Wild 1998 Jay Leno and Diamond Dallas Page vs Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff Not to defend the Guest Host Era of WWE, but I'm glad that most of the guest hosts didn't attempt to be in the ring. I would have paid PPV money for Brain to host the Tonight Show. Leno "Gets it" and gets a thumbs-up from me for the hair taunt. Another match that was a little too long and is on after a title match that SHOULD have been the main, just like with the Malone/Rodman stuff. WCW did learn a little bit from the previous guest match fiasco by adding some storyline with Goldberg coming out to break up the extracurriculars.

Monday Nitro 1/10/2000 Jeff Jarrett vs Jimmy Snuka This is match #3 of a trio of matches to "show" how good Jarrett is. Nice of Zybysko and Orndorff to give Snuka an easy night. Benoit as the ref also took some of the load off Snuka. I didn't know anyone could snap suplex in jeans!

ECW Living Dangerously 1999 Rob Van Dam vs Jerry Lynn Finally, some actual wrestling! And Zenmeister what was that awful racket that RVD came out to? Guessing the Network wasn't going to pay for "Walk". You don't have to twist my arm to watch these two throw down, I really enjoy some of the variations they use in the feeling-out process.... and then just get more and more insane from there! and lots of BRIDGES! I didn't hear if there was a time limit at the beginning of the match, but much appreciated for the finish.... and a reason for these two to tie up again.

Everyone knows about Bret getting Superkicked by Goldberg and how it affected the Souled Out card, but poor Jarrett suffered a concussion out of the headbutt/splash combo, which wrecked the planned Triple Threat Theater matches between Benoit and Jarrett at the Souled Out show, and we all know the series of events that followed.

I remembered that....but I selected this match because my friend told me that when Snuka did the splash from the top of the cage he was erect, and I looked it up to see for myself...and sure enough he was

This one wasn't very good, but the match the year prior with Luger/Giant vs. Hogan/Rodman was much better, crowd was all over Hogan/Rodman and even popped when did an armdrag to Lex Luger.

ECW Guilty as Charged 2001 Rob Van Dam vs Jerry Lynn Yay, more Zenmeister! Even if this match was during the dying days of ECW, RVD and Lynn fought like it was Mania. Another one of those "the crowd makes the match". Especially for calling out a stupid fan (who kept reaching for RVD) and for Lynn screwing up a schoolboy by the ropes. Minus a few points for some of their less.. "Tasteful" chants (but we weren't much better at ONS1) They mention Black Mask II.... let me save you 90 minutes of your life. Do not watch. Definitely more fun watching a motivated Zenmeister. He and Lynn put together some classics Special guest appearance by Joel Gertner - always welcome.

Hardcore Heaven 1995 Ian Rotten vs. Axl Rotten eek, a Taipei Death match! Nice stretch with the Gangstas/Public Enemy brawl. Given how much blood has been taken out of the equation in WWE, this is actually very hard to watch today. Obviously not out there for its "wrestling", and a match that is more the style of what ECW is remembered for / imitated than what we saw with the Lynn/RVD matches.
