Joey Numbahs thinks that this thread is a rocketbustah.

Taz was at his best when he'd threaten to beat up Cole. He was the bulldog to Cole's Hype Poodle.

He wasn't the worst I've heard but I was pretty underwhelmed with him. Had a reputation as such a tough guy and was this high pitched voice troll as an announcer.

He could be entertaining doing his schtick, but I wouldn't call him a good commentator in the sense that he didn't really bring much to the matches themselves.

His call of Show and Lesnar breaking the ring is just as good as Ross calling the Taker Foley HIAC.

When Tazz settled into doing commentary, I remember somebody on the internet saying "They took the Human Suplex Machine, and turned him into Laughing Petey Senerchia, The Mechanic From Hell". I don't know why, but I always found that funny. "LOOK AT TAZ. THIS MAN WAS A KILLER. HE WAS A MACHINE. HE WAS A WRESTLER. A GREAT WRESTLER, A REAL MAN. NOW HES A FAT, OBNOXIOUS COLOR COMMENTATOR, AND NOT EVEN A GOOD ONE."

Just wanted to talk about how great Tax was on commentary. He didn't do commentary often, but his running commentary on society as he came to the ring was great.

I quite enjoyed Tazz's weirdly surrealist brand of commentary, all the more surreal for how serious his character was in ring, and how seriously he allegedly took that gimmick.
He had his own strange catchphrases like rocketbustah, came up with a few genuinely iconic things ('Here comes the pain' might have been a writer's idea but he got it over), and at the Rumbles in 2004 and 2005 had this incredibly bizarre chemistry with JR that shouldn't be, but just is. Him prodding JR to use his catchphrases was f***ing gold, to be honest.
Outside of that, though, he mostly sucked. But in a way that was fun to listen to. Like a much more coherent but even more irrelevant Booker T.

"Somebody call my momma.....come on, JR...somebody call my momma...you know the words..."
