How does JR Smith have an ego? Dude only showed up in one Finals and is wildly inconsistent. Yeah, you're going to be behind Wade who was actually very good offensively last year. Smith is better defensively, but guess what Shumpert was better than him defensively and who started? I've always thought Smith was kind of an idiot, though.
Bulls, NY, Sacremento, Atlanta, and Indiana are my bottom 5. Nets are up there. Bulls look atrocious on paper, and LaVine isn't coming back for a while so their scoring is gonna look real bad. But they wish they had a re-do on Lauri right about now.

Hoiberg is a good coach. It might take him another team before he becomes a good NBA coach, but I like him and what he did at Iowa St. Chicago was just in a pickle. Butler wanted out. It's easier to trade him and try to rebuild than to fire the coach and try to build another team for a new coach's system. LaVine is good. Dunn has been bad, but still has potential. They just needed to ask for more. Like, why are you trading a superstar and swapping 1st round picks? They seemed to take Minny's first offer, or just aren't very good at negotiating. Or maybe they didn't want to trade him in-Conference, so they hamstrung themselves. You do know who is in the front office, right? Beavis and Butthead.

In the "Nobody Cares" department, the Spurs sold the WNBA Stars to a Las Vegas buyer, so they'll be moving there.

CJ McCollum suspended for the first game of the year because he left the bench during a pre season altercation

What sucks is they need a guard or a wing to pair with Turner, but next year at the top of the draft is almost exclusively true bigs. Need to get in that top 3.

Need to get in that top 3. Yea Michael Porter is technically a SF and he’s 6’10 so he doesn’t even count. Essentially 8 out of 10 top draft picks are big men

Saw this nugget earlier: With Fultz coming off the bench to start the season, he'll join Anthony Bennett and Andrea Bargnani as the only #1 picks in the last 14 years to come off the bench to begin their rookie years. Eek

The season tips off in just over 24 hours, so here are my predictions for the 2017-18 NBA season. Last season, I predicted that the Golden State Warriors would get their vengeance over the Cleveland Cavaliers in The Finals and that Kevin Durant would win Finals MVP. It doesn't exactly take a Magic-8 ball to envision that, but I'll take the win. Anyway, let's see who I believe will hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy next June.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
ATLANTIC DIVISION Boston Celtics (1) Toronto Raptors (4) Philadelphia 76ers Brooklyn Nets New York Knicks
CENTRAL DIVISION Cleveland Cavaliers (2) Milwaukee Bucks (5) Detroit Pistons (8) Indiana Pacers Chicago Bulls
SOUTHEAST DIVISION Washington Wizards (3) Charlotte Hornets (6) Miami Heat (7) Orlando Magic Atlanta Hawks
EASTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS Boston over Detroit, 4 games to 1 Cleveland over Miami, 4 games to 0 Charlotte over Washington, 4 games to 3 Toronto over Milwaukee, 4 games to 3
Boston over Toronto, 4 games to 2 Cleveland over Charlotte, 4 games to 1
Cleveland over Boston, 4 games to 2
WESTERN CONFERENCE
NORTHWEST DIVISION Oklahoma City Thunder (2) Minnesota Timberwolves (5) Denver Nuggets (8) Utah Jazz Portland Trail Blazers
PACIFIC DIVISION Golden State Warriors (1) Los Angeles Clippers (6) Los Angeles Lakers Phoenix Suns Sacramento Kings
SOUTHWEST DIVISION Houston Rockets (3) San Antonio Spurs (4) New Orleans Pelicans (7) Dallas Mavericks Memphis Grizzlies
WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS Golden State over Denver, 4 games to 0 Oklahoma City over New Orleans, 4 games to 1 Houston over Los Angeles Clippers, 4 games to 1 Minnesota over San Antonio, 4 games to 3
Golden State over Minnesota, 4 games to 1 Oklahoma City over Houston, 4 games to 2
Golden State over Oklahoma City, 4 games to 3
2018 NBA FINALS GOLDEN STATE over CLEVELAND, 4 games to 1
2017-18 AWARDS MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: James Harden, Houston ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Lonzo Ball, Los Angeles Lakers DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR: Dwyane Wade, Cleveland MOST IMPROVED PLAYER: Bradley Beal, Washington COACH OF THE YEAR: Tom Thibodeau, Minnesota FINALS MVP: Stephen Curry, Golden State

My prediction? Warriors win because like 3 teams total matter.
Literally the only way GSW doesn't win is due to injuries or a personality rips the team apart at the seams. They have all the cheat codes with a new pro controller, all other teams are using a Madcatz with a broken D-pad and two stuck buttons.
Hell, half the teams are like the little brother whose controller isn't even plugged in.

LaMarcus Aldridge signed a 3 year 72 million dollar extension with the Spurs.
Ugh.

And with Kawhi not back yet, Aldridge will get even more touches. Curious to see if he'll actually step up this time

Is Aldridge worth that much?
Gasol, Manu, Parker are at the end of their careers. You also need to upgrade during next year's free agency. I think Aldridge will take up cap space that can be used elsewhere.
Oh yeah my predictions.
Warriors win it all against Cavs 4-1.
MVP: Durant. Defensive player of the year: Rudy Robert. Rookie of the year: Dennis Smith Jr. Sixth man: Lou Williams. Coach of the year: Brett Brown. Most improved player: Goran Dragic.

There's speculation whether LBJ will play tonight
He's had a knee injury all pre season and aggravated it towards the end of pre season

So here's a thing: Bobby Portis beat up Nikola Mirotic so bad that Niko was hospitalized and will be out for the foreseeable future. Yikes
