Lame dad Drew is fun to watch
I didn't really think much of him besides good ring work after the CWC but this is what WWE does for guys in regards to getting them a character and letting them shine

This isn't so much as WWE giving him a character as letting him show personality outside of "I wrestle good."

Oh really, well good on them for giving him what amounts to the same character then instead of trying to force him into some other role of their own creation

He has his character absolutely nailed. I bet Vince is loving him right now, he has been tremendous lately.

That's cool as hell he's playing his own character and not something creative gave him and it works.
Vince (if rumor is to be believed) obviously still knows how to let guys get themselves over. Such a shame there's so many masters (advertisers, the tv networks) to mind on the main shows and so many cooks in the kitchen for creative.
Wrasslin just seems to work better with less people being involved.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if 205 Live is Vince booking wrestling how he likes wrestling, but the main product is what he (rightly or wrongly) thinks sells biggest, regardless of audience reaction as long as there still is an audience.

Did Gulak's CZW gimmick ever end with him getting bludgeoned in CZW fashion? I never would have guessed he had a history there. It did lead to him having a no ropes barbed wire match after Danny Havoc hit him with a kendo stick and busted him open (Drew kind of went crazy after the hit because he had never bled in CZW up to that point). The Campaign was fun because it was the No Fly Zone... the issue with Gulak is because he is such a good technical wrestler he keeps wanting to try to do a serious shooter gimmick that ends up not working well (see Catch Point). He is at his best being goofy whether it's with the Gentlemen's Club, the Campaign, his other gimmick in Chikara, or his tag team with his brother

Probably the best 205 Live wrestler not named "Mustafa Ali".

Really only works with Biff/Oney.

What a promo on 205 Live this week. He's the funniest guy on the mic since Kurt Angle debuted.
Vince has to start giving Drew Gulak more time on Raw.

Drew Gulak is an example of a guy who realized the gimmick he wanted wasnt working so he changed to something that would work. Like it was clear he wanted to be the mean no nonsense stretcher of 205 Live with his Ninja robe and buzz cut and beard.
But he knew it wasnt working so he grew his hair out and shaved his face and did his politician gimmick. It was sort of working so he started acting like the biggest lame dad dweeb. Now he may had surpassed Enzo as my favorite Cruiserweight and is one of my favorite acts in the company.
Also Nigel marking out for his powerpoints is my favorite thing ever because thats me in real life.

Gulak is great. I actually could dig him as beardy shooter but this is definitely better, I'd love to see him break out and become an obnoxious heel midcarder ala Miz. His gimmick in CZW didn't really work as a heel because he actually had a point to everything he said, but as the Fun Police in WWE he's a fantastic heel.
More Powerpoints plz.

I would love to see him snap and go on a psychotic rampage like Michael Douglas' character in Falling Down.

I like how he says "PowerPoint presentation" so dramatically every time.
The loud booing on that "No Candy" slide added even more to his promo on 205 Live this week.

GREAT match with Tony Nese this week on 205 Live. The whole match was a build to the finish, something you rarely see on TV these days.

GREAT match with Tony Nese this week on 205 Live. The whole match was a build to the finish, something you rarely see on TV these days. It was a great match, yes, but this does look like he’ll be leaving his more comedic character behind as part of this reboot for 205 Live. (At least put the PowerPoint presentations on a file-sharing service of some sort)
