As a Stephen King fan this show is like The Shining Movie by Stanley...I understand it's appeal but I just cant get into it...I have tried many times to like it...I'd much rather watch Bojack Horseman or Bob's Burgers

Rick Potion #9 is on some next level shit, when you consider it. I do like how they keep flashing back from the consequences of this episode

It's the rare animated comedy show where it makes the most sense watch it from the beginIng, most shows like family guy you can just jump right in and not miss anything. All the callbacks and foreshadowing make it such a great show. That said the first few episodes are a bit of a chore, forgettable pilot, inception Freddy Krueger padoity and the inside the body episode arnt the best, but you can tell from the b-plot with the dogs it's going to get good. Then Mr. Meseeks happens and show just comes together perfectly. My other favorite episode is one where your introduced to Mr. Poopybutthole. The show does kinda fall apart in a bit in the third season as Rick and Morty never seem to be in any sort of danger, the show does poke fun at this a bit, but really doesn't do anything to solve the problem.
Also Interdimensional cable those ones are great too.

Tremendous show. The pilot is weak, compared to how good it gets.
I don't think it ever loses quality. I like Season 3 a lot despite it feeling like the point where the fanbase began to turn on it. The Ricklantis Mixup is an all time animation great.

the first Inter-dimensional cable was really good, 2 was alright... and uh... what they did instead of it in three would have been ok had they not directly compared it to Inter-dimensional cable on the show. Morty's Mind Blowers wasn't bad... but it flowed completely different than the setup of Inter-dimensional cable which didn't really reflect on the actual series. I think the only thing that season three will be remembered for is Pickle Rick. That's turning into a merchandise seller idea for the show. I think the Citadel episode will be remembered mostly as it seemed the most plot heavy. Potentially the Vindicators 3 as I've seen a lot of cosplay and fanart of that episode. Season 3 is the weakest but it's still a very good season. It's one of those shows I wanted to hate based on the non stop hype but it lives up to the hype. Keep watching and enjoy. Season 3 started off strong for like the first 6 episodes or so but then it whimpered out like the last 3-4. The Citadel episode should have probably been the one to end the season on instead of Rick fighting with The President The citadel episode was episode 7 so you just called it bad! HOW DARE YOU! Seriously, though I kinda agree and disagree... I think ending the season on the cliffhanger there would have been good... but at the same time it doesn't (And couldn't) touch on the arc of the season and that would either have been tied up before hand or just kinda peter out without being brought up.

Ohhh I def agree, there's no way they were topping the end of season 2 but that Citadel episode would have been a good ending. I guess the caution would have been they don't bother mentioning it for a few episodes and we get Rick and Morty as normal or they handle it very quickly therefore killing something they've been building up since Season 1

I've tried watching it, couldn't get through the episode. I got sick of the burping whilst talking. It wasn't funny the first time and just got more grating.
Also tried watching the famous Pickle Rick episode since I figured it would be one of the best ones. Didn't get it. "I turned myself into a Pickle. I'm pickle Rick."
What a hoot. To be fair maybe that would be funny if I'd watched all the episodes and had more of a feel for the show. Same as the Szechuan sauce clip I saw where Rick is yelling nonsense about getting sauce been his season arc or whatever. Not really a fan of "lol random" type humour like that.

Tried watching it but couldn't get into it. They way they do the eyes and mouths were a minor niggle that just didn't work for me. I also don't care much for how I'm supposed to buy how Rick cares for anyone but himself after all of his actions. I just don't like when a show makes a complete monster of a character, but then make you try to sympathise for them. It fell completely flat with Rick.

I love it. Like any show, some episodes are better than others. I don't think any of them were bad though. If you enjoyed the first 2 episodes I think it's safe to say you will enjoy the series.

OK. I'm up to episode 6 now. I actually watched 4, 5 and 6 all in one sitting as I was enjoying it that much. The love potion episode i thought was fantatsic, and i laughed when morty beat up the jelly bean who later turned out to be a peadophile king.
There's a line Rick said "You're not going to believe this cause it hardly happens but I made a mistake" which I'm going to use in work someday.

I loved it from the ep 1 but I didn't "get" the pickle rick episode either. I mean it was fine and funny and everything but I don't understand how it became a cult thing.

I've watched the first few episodes of this after reading this thread, and so far quite like it. Mr Meseeks was brilliant, but I think that if I binge watch episodes then it'll lose the appeal.
I'm glad I've discovered it, though, and know that I'll watch episodes when I've got an hour or two to kill.

Ridiculous thing but while I find it funny, I find the belching repulsive to the point I can't watch it at times.

My God, what an awful episode. I guess the meme comes from how they hammer home the pickle stuff. That & its the most violent episode in the series.
