Brought up in the thread for WTL, but word is they're going to do Suzuki vs. Goto again for the NEVER strap, which sucks because it's pretty much a waste for both guys.
Said it in that thread, but while I'd rather see Ishii move up to hold the IC belt at some point this year I'd rather see him challenge Suzuki for the Dome, as at least it's a fresh matchup. Suzuki's reign needs a logical endgame and it's just not there yet, and Goto needs something else to keep busy and build his stature back up after a quiet summer and fall, maybe get him in the tag title picture or, my personal preference, let him and SANADA have a nice feud for a few months as neither of them have been doing too much of late. SANADA at least got some tag wins during the Power Struggle tour, but guess we'll see where that goes.

Maybe they should have just waited and done Tanahashi/Ibushi at WK instead of yesterday? Omega doing routine (albeit terrific) title defenses vs. Robinson, Barreta, etc. makes sense considering it could elevate those guys just having a 20-30 minute match with Omega. But it's not like Omega faced Baretta at the biggest show of the year. It's a little odd to have Jay White simply show up and get an IC shot at the biggest show of the year without any rationale. I'm not sure what I would have done really. Maybe just have White beat whoever on the undercard for a few months until he's really ready for the IC title, while Tanahashi can defend the IC in late 2017 against various LIJ guys (Sanada or Evil maybe?) and then do the Ibushi match at WK. The way it is White is going to have to show that his match will be better than the Ibushi match, but that's not all that likely given it's 3rd from the top and probably won't get 30 minutes or anything.

Goto can do the preshow rumble Goto's still got name value in Japan, hence why he's often featured in posters for the shows in a secondary spot; WK is about leveraging name value as much as possible, which is a reason why they'll usually work hard to give Makabe a featured spot, as well. Cobb/Suzuki would be a lot of fun, but they're not likely going to dive right into that as a Dome match. Jay White's getting a push like that because they know him very well, trust him, know he's a full timer, has support built in from the home fanbase that watched him as a young lion, etc., which Cobb doesn't have going for him yet. Still, I'd love to see that match at, say, New Beginning. |

I see some of you mention having tickets, are you in Japan or did you order them outside of Japan? I am super keen on going but wondering to book the flights and hotels to Tokyo and hope to get tickets there or buy online before. I see a lot of people saying WK won't sell out but does that mean anyone buying tickets the week of the show ends up in the rafters?
Also are there any kind of meet and greet or autograph sessions the week of WK?

Jericho hinted on his podcast that NJPW are looking at "other ways" for people in the west to watch the show. Not sure what that could mean.

Well, to be fair, it's quite on short notice and the whole week is a holiday in Japan so everything's pretty much packed already.
For example, I plan to go to Japan in June. If I bought my tickets now I could get a come and back flight for less that 620€ (around 730 USD). You need to plan these trips WAY in advance otherwise you'll get those absurd prices.

Rumor says Jericho is trying to get Batista as his cornerman for the match. That'd be neat if he managed it. Obviously Batista's stock is high, plus I know Jericho has a lot of respect for him due to what happened with them and their cage match. |

There is talk about WK12 also possibly airing on PPV. WK9 which did gathered fourteen thousand buys and many in the company are pushing for it and a deal is trying to be made.
The only potential downside is that it'd be starting around 2:30 AM.
