I think Ishii will end up with YOSHI-HASHI and Yano in the NEVER 6-man gauntlet match. Although Beretta was mentioned as being booked for the Tokyo Dome (and Chuck will not be), so maybe he's part of this team, and one of the others is in the Rumble.
Taguchi Japan is just a funny way of combining the New Japan Sekigun together, and the company never officially labeled them as a unit. So that gauntlet team could be something like Taguchi, Juice & Finlay.

Is Taguchi Japan even still a thing? Ricochet has disappeared and Kushida, Juice and Tanahashi are all doing their own thing and teaming with new people. Finished the World Tag league today and asked my GF which match she was most excited about at WK12, after the press conference she said Omega/Jericho but for me I am still most pumped for Okada/Naito, what about you guys? What do you think will be the sleeper match of the night? Honestly, I'm excited for both right now. The backstory for Okada/Naito is the kind of story you wish was in modern wrestling more and Omega/Jericho, for a few weeks build has managed to make things a hell of a lot interesting. In terms of sleepers, I feel like White/Tanahashi is going to surprise people. It might be an unusual build but there must be a reason they have him against one of their best so I think it'll, at least, be a tonne of fun. I've enjoyed what I have seen from White in his excursion. But Tanahashi's knee is in very bad shape, so I'm not sure how well he can work around that.

While we are all getting caught up in the whole dream match thing. There is one thing that kind of worries me. Jericho was telling all of the reporters to write down it was Kenny Omega's last match in New Japan. After hearing Jericho say Vince was cool with him working at Wrestle Kingdom, I'm starting to worry Jericho going there might just be some elaborate way to court him to WWE. I know a lot of what Jericho says is just "working", but I really hope this isn't the case.

Not to say you’ve been worked but I’m sure part of it is part of the strategy of the match. Also, Jericho during the first beatdown pretty much bloodied him and wrecked him hard. Now Kenny got back at him rather than showing him respect, of course he wants to kill him. I get the worry but you might be overthinking it a tad with speculation that, honestly, comes from conspiracy theorists that think WWE wouldn’t get sued to oblivion if that was an obvious method for this match.

Personally, I hope I am getting "worked" and that is the point. I get how Jericho wants to "end" Kenny from a storyline standpoint. Just seems odd that Vince would be cool with this, I suppose we will just have to see how it all plays out. As far as getting "sued to oblivion", not sure how that could happen. Jericho isn't under WWE contract and I am just saying Vince told him to try and get Kenny to come WWE while he was over there and he would be more than fine with it. Otherwise, I truly can't understand how Vince would be fine with Jericho going to New Japan for their biggest show, putting more eyes(especially stateside)on them. Even moreso with the whole Bullet Club t-shirt thing at Wrestlemania and everything that has happened with the Young Bucks/Jimmy Jacobs since then. Unless Jericho saying Vince was good with it and being a close personal friend of Vince's is part of the work.

Even moreso with the whole Bullet Club t-shirt thing at Wrestlemania and everything that has happened with the Young Bucks/Jimmy Jacobs since then. Unless Jericho saying Vince was good with it and being a close personal friend of Vince's is part of the work. Well, like you said, Jericho doesn’t work for Vince right now technically. If he did sign a contract in secret, it might have come out right now. So it’s not like he’d be able to do anything about it even if Jericho said nothing to him at all except not book him. Which...well, Jericho has half a year packed full of Fozzy dates and the cruise so he won’t exactly be hurting if he’s not in WWE. But if there was something and he was being sent there to lure Omega, that would breach some kind of law on trying to sign a guy before the end of their contract or luring him to one considering he’s not done until February. I could be wrong there but that’d be the impression I get. Again, I understand the cynicism but the other factor to that is that WWE’s got to offer Omega one hell of a deal to get him to jump and considering that they’re about to sign Rousey who they probably think is a much more proven box office draw to casuals, that’s probably not likely unless they cut more folks.

I kinda feel bad for Naito. Dude finally gets his Dome main event and the show is being promoted as a double main event. Dude can't win. lol.

The double main stuff sounds like a set up for Naito to challenge Jericho, probably at the March show in the US.

You know, upon reflection, I'm way more excited for WK12 than I am for Christmas.

So I was convinced by a friend (a much bigger Omega fan and on reflection a bigger Jericho fan than I am) to watch the video of Jericho attacking Omega.
Excellent beatdown, really well executed. English commentary ruined it for me. I assume it was Cyrus and Kelly, but Kelly sounded like an emotionless reading of a 90s JR commentary and Cyrus is doing an uninspired Jesse Ventura impression. I think I need to find the Japanese audio and I'll enjoy it more.
Still not keen on the match but the beatdown has done more to raise my interest. Still don't see much in Omega though, really trying but it's not happening.

See, I was thinking the whole "Naito is bitter about double main event" aspect is leading more towards Naito/Omega than anything with Jericho. Jericho might be doing some wacky work deal here, but it doesn't make much sense for him to challenge for the IWGP title.

The Tokyo Sports Award press conference for Naito with subtitles. He does speak on his feelings of the "double-main event" and it is interesting. Also some hilarious stuff between Naito and the man conducting the press conference.

Final Battle spoilers but Ibushi vs Cody is now just a regular match. Unless they slide Dalton Castle in his place.
