For the record, I don’t use that term, once something is over, its as if it didn’t exist for me, but I do have basic items like clothing given to me by someone from a past life.
I don’t have a sentimental attachment to it, but I want to know everyone’s basic take on stuff given to you by an ex-I have some cool stuff that I don’t think anyone would necessarily associate with who gave it to me.
Thoughts?

If it bugs you toss it. If it bugs your new person toss it. If not keep it.
I've had a girl burn things I gave her and show up unannounced at my place with the rest.
I didn't do those things but,I can't say I have much from my recent separation from my wife of 7 years. The few things I do have I have on the letgo app. But if they dont sell I guess they can stay on a shelf.
I have the bigger problem of needing tattoos covered

I have a 9/12 inch bwaaahing raving rabbid (from the rayman/rabbids games.) plush from an ex, I did try to give it back to her but she was insistant that I kept it as a gift. I now refer to it as my guard rabbid for shits and giggles
nothing else really.

Unless it was acrimonious, I just think of them as nice keepsakes and eventually just something I eventually toss when I'm cleaning up.

Like f*** I’m gonna throw out something just because it came from an ex. Half my wardrobe is from ex’s.

Got an X Box 360 from an ex years ago. Ended up selling it eventually. Mainly it's trinklets and random gifts that I've just accepted as mine.

If it's something I like, I'm going to keep it regardless of who gave it to me. It's mine now, not theirs.

Unless it ended really poorly and you can’t divorce yourself from bad thoughts of them any time you use/wear/see whatever it is, then I don’t see the problem with keeping something.
I have some books and clothes from exes and I’ve kept them.

The only thing my ex ever gave me was high blood pressure, low self-esteem and stress baldness.

Got a whole bunch from stuff from my ex a few months ago.
Since our breakup was messy(I caught her cheating on me)and all that shit kept on reminding me of how much of a fool she made me look like. I deiced to sell what I could and gave the rest to the salvation army.

Umm for real, still got an autographed backpack from rock the bells 09 in Toronto signed by Mos Def, Mc supernatural, epmd, rza, shyheim and slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, royce da 59, crooked I, Joel ortiz), and a couch since my ex and I are stubbornly trying to salvage our relationship/engagement

I have a gold chain bracelet, a bunch of clothes and some other assorted gifts from exes. I never threw anything out or gave anything back or gave anything away either. I wouldn’t want anything I gave as a gift back either. I never saw the point in being upset about that kind of stuff. They’re just gifts. I do make it a point not to tell any current girlfriends about what was given to me by who because I don’t want them to feel bad or feel like they have to compete with my past. That’s not cool.

A T-shirt of Spider-Man holding Captain America's shield, which was related to Civil War. I still have the shirt.

Basically a Mug.
It does still have sentimental value.

A few shirts. I have an engraved cigar holder and a flask, that I never have used.
That stuff gets filed under the same thing as the dog does when she jumps on furniture. f*** you, the dog lives here, you're just visiting

I have a shirt, cap, bottle opener and another trinket. I use them and keep them around in some weird act of defiance
