I loved it, anyway, but it helped that I've heard it was a very fun set to be on.

For some reason, I have always like Addams Family Values more than the first film. The first film was funny, don't get me wrong, but I got more of a kick out of the second film.
Raul Julia just seemed to have given it his all in this scene:
My other favorite part of the film:

Best line of the movie for me, among the abundant brilliant choices...
Morticia: You have gone too far. You have married Fester, you have destroyed his spirit, you have taken him from us. All that I could forgive. But Debbie... Debbie: What?! Morticia: Pastels?
And when Debbie has them tied up towards the end, she's explaining all the ridiculous reasons she HAD to kill her parents and various husbands, and all the family sympathise and empathise with her reasons, no matter how unhinged, I'm usually crying with laughter.

Morticia: Wednesday, look at all of the other children, their freckles, their bright little eyes, their eager, friendly smiles.
Help them.

For some reason, I have always like Addams Family Values more than the first film. Values seems to get a lot more love than the first one, and I can agree with it. One of those rare times where the sequel is better than the first. Original, everyone seemed to be trying to find their footing; this one, they were off to the races.

They got me Malibu Barbie! Gomez: "The nightmare." Morticia: "The nerve." For some reason, I have always like Addams Family Values more than the first film. Raúl Juliá was a great actor with an excellent range, with a career that ran for 35 years, so I find it somewhat amusing that he's best remembered for his last two performances - this and Street Fighter - where he was at his hammiest. Impossible not to love him as Gomez or Bison.

As a teen and into my 20s I loved Wednesday's cynicism and scheming. Now in my 30s I love Morticia's matter of fact lines more and more. Something for everyone. Turning to the end of Cat in the Hat "Oh no...he lives"
