Playing GTA V on the PS4..
Was just wandering around and a command prompt came up. It was to consume some peyote. So do it, next thing I know I’m controlling a cow while the character I was controlling Franklin gave a monologue.
Didn’t know they added that.

You can be a dog, and several other animals. I believe it's part of getting 100%

Seems lots of people didn't read the manuels. I learned about player 2 controlling the ducks cause of reading the manuel. I always read the manual if it was available, but back in those days it was hit or miss whether you would get the manual (or a photocopy) if you rented a game or bought them used. Nintendo Power was valuable as hell for shit like this, before the internet was a thing.

I had Kid Icarus Uprising for 2 years before realizing I could use the face buttons as an alternative to the touchscreen.

I didn't know that in Ocarina of Time I could skip the moving wall section in the Spirit Temple by using the longshot.

I always warped to the end. Now that I know this trick I'll do it next time I play. This also raises a question: In recent years, I've been an Xbox guy. If I wanted to play old Nintendo exclusive games what is my best option. Can you download them on a current Nintendo system? Or should I just get one of those retro gaming consoles and buy the original cartridges on eBay or something?

For the past 25 years or so, every now and again I'll pick up Mike Tyson's punch out on the nes. I love this game, it's just the right amount of difficulty, not that I'm especially good at it. I rarely get past Bald Bull. So I'm playing it last night, and like every time I play, at some point I wonder "what are those stars for?" So after years of playing, I finally googled it. And whadya know, you can uppercut using the start button! And it appears to be a super punch of sorts! I feel silly for having been oblivious to this part of the game for literally decades. So please share the times when you were completed oblivious to key parts of a game. Don't feel bad, I never knew about it either until recently. I never bought the game but rented it a bunch of times back in the day, so I never got to see the manual.

Minor thing, but it took me a few years to discover you could change the colour of the text box in FFVII.

There's a pretty extensive list of available Virtual Console titles available on Wii U, 3DS, and for now, the original Wii, but nothing on the Switch yet.

I'm watching a friend stream Fallout New Vegas. Him going through a dark tunnel: Man, it's so dark in here it's hard to see anything. Me: Yeah, I wondered why you didn't turn on your pipboy flashlight. Him: Wut...? There's a flashlight? Me: Hold down tab on the keyboard. Flashlight turns on. Him: Wow. I did not know that existed. Me: Well you played Fallout 3, didn't you? Him: It was in that game too?! I played the whole game without knowing that! In defence of your friend, at least that was just a video game. I know plenty of people you’d need to explain a flashlight to IRL.

There is also the NES Classic and SNES Classic consoles from Nintendo that come preloaded with alot of high profile games from the era
