Does anyone remember when tv airings of movies would have added scenes that werent in the theatrical or home video versions? Off the top of my head I can remember Superman: The Movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Roger Rabbit, and, strangely enough, Problem Child. This was in the days before deleted scenes on dvd and director's cuts of movies, so it was an interesting bonus.

Jingle All The Way had a scene where the warehouse of Santa's sing a song while Arnold listens and when he was going store to store looking for Turbo Man instead of a remix of Jingle Bells like the VHS/DVDs had, there was a completely different song.

The first Iron Man was like this on FX. I remember watching it and going "Huh?" at the new scenes.

First time I saw the Brady Bunch Movie on tv I was surprised to see scenes I had never seen. What sucks is those scenes so far haven't been released on DVD or Blu Ray.

Jaws: The Revenge had a scene at the end of the movie where the shark is impaled by the front of the ship in full detail. The shark explodes for some reason when this happens instead in the threatrical and home video/DVD releases.
As for differing songs: That's very common for TV releases of movies using licensed music not composed for the film itself (like when characters listen to a song on the radio) due to the expensive and annoying way music licensing works for movies. That's why we ended up with a version of Wrestlemania where Taker came out to E.T. by Katy Perry.

Halloween was another...the extra scenes I think explained clearly who Laurie Strode was.
Pulp Fiction? With what they had to/should have cut out, they could probably make a whole new movie with new footage.

Usually the music issues aren't as big of a problem as they are on DVD. TV reruns often retain what home entertainment releases don't. But there are cases when it does happen. This is where are the WKRP problems started, for instance.

Born in East LA is a very good example of this. Apparently, in the TV version, there was a kidnapping subplot that happened after Cheech Marin's character and the girl he got with crossed the border and ended up calling Paul Rodriguez's character for help to deliver ransom money. Also, the girl, being that she crossed the border illegally, the INS was after her and Cheech and then came across a minister who was in a parade and married the two so that she could gain citizenship.
Also, Bulletproof had some extra scenes in the TV version, some of which were relevant to the plot, no less. For example, towards the end when it was revealed who the mole was, the captain talked with Damon Wayans's character about letting Adam Sandler's character go and such. Why these scenes were left out is beyond me.
If only Universal or Shout were to put out extended versions or collector's editions of these movies.

Some of the best scenes in Police Academy 4 are the ones they added in the TV version. Though that is for the wacky antics of Milt Butterworth, "Defender of the Common Man."

Naked Gun 33 1/3 has a ton of different scenes on TV. I’ve never found a reason for this. There must be 30 or more different scenes, taking the place of others. It’s like a different cut of the movie.

Ace Ventura had an extra scene during the chase towards the end where he runs into the club from earlier, and Cannibal Corpse is still on stage, still playing Hammer Smashed Face days later. He gets on stage and grabs the mic from Chris Barnes and takes over vocals.

Pulp Fiction on AMC -- very strange scene before Mia and Vincent Vega arrive at Jack Rabbit Slims Is it the scene where she asks him if he is an Elvis fan or a Beatles fan? Surprised no one has mentioned the ABC movie of the week edit of Mallrats. Lots of dialogue and scene changes in that version.

I remember Homeward Bound having like a whole side story for Sassy that is pretty much absent from the, I assume, theatrical cut.

TV broadcast of Spider-Man 2 featured a scene of Jameson putting on the discarded Spider-Man tights.
Yes, JK Simmons in the Spider-Man costume.

Ace Ventura also added the dolphin trainer scene for home video/ppv. I think it might have been left off the tv version though.
